APRIL 29, 2002 -- Braintree, MA -- GMC Software Technology, a leading provider of easy-to-use turnkey software to design, compose and print variable documents, announces an agreement with Britemoon to provide the digital output industry with affordable personalized email campaign management. Britemoon is a developer of end-to-end e-mail marketing software, whose customers include over 40 advertising, database and direct marketing agencies and partners representing some of the world's most recognized companies, including Federal Express, General Motors, Microsoft, Verizon and Worldcom. Marketing professionals recognize the potential of multi-channel campaigns for better customer communication and retention, but until now, solutions have been disjointed and expensive. Companies could only integrate email and print data streams at great expense, if at all, with inconsistent results and without true variable messaging. With this announcement, GMC addresses the growing need of the marketplace to expand beyond print by adding online campaign and customer relationship management (CRM). The new agreement quickly brings GMC PrintNet users into campaign management and CRM, enabling more effective communications through integrated print and email campaigns. Many companies already have valuable customer data accessible through print stream formats, and the collaboration between GMC and Britemoon lets them drive this existing data to new delivery channels and enhance their overall communications mix. Users can easily create complex personalized email for stronger messaging value, and automatically manage ensuing interactions based on what recipients do in real time, such as reading email or making a purchase. Output industry service providers also gain an opportunity to capture new revenue with this affordable, easy-to-use solution. Unlike other email campaign management products on the market, GMC eliminates the barriers to entry presented by cost-prohibitive implementation. The new campaign management capabilities will also be available from GMC on an ASP basis, making them even more affordable and easy to implement. GMC clients can leverage the power of campaign management at a very manageable cost of entry -- as low as $2,500 -- with no hardware, software or technical investment required. "Through this partnership with Britemoon, we can help the paper-based document world profit from the email channel," said Denny Kerns, president and general manager of GMC Software Technology. "The synergy between GMC and Britemoon is significant. GMC contributes expertise in the management of complex variable documents and printing processes, while Britemoon comes from the campaign management side, with the ability to automatically manage the process of communicating with target audiences." "Britemoon is focused on best-of-class CRM applications, and we market through collaborative partnerships with leaders who can leverage our technology for a broader offering. With their strong client base and broad industry experience, GMC is the right partner to bring Britemoon to the document marketplace," said Philip Chischportich, CEO of Britemoon. Britemoon software will be made available through a reseller arrangement with GMC that will make implementation, training and support easy and transparent for customers. For convenience, users want one environment for campaign management, no matter what their platform, and the new offering supports all functionality through a single interface. Within the familiar PrintNet environment, a user can assemble and proof document contents and components just as they would for printed output. Then the PrintNet output is simply directed to email delivery via Britemoon campaign management. A very easy query data base system simplifies creation and management of the variable content.
