NCSS and PrintStaff Agree on Certification Process

Press release from the issuing company

April 29, 2002 -- The National Council for Skills Standards in Graphic Communications (NCSS) a member group of GATF and PrintStaff have to agreed allow NC certification testing at all PrintStaff offices. PrintStaff with offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Santa Clara and San Francisco will now be hosting and proctoring the following exams: The Flexo and Litho (Sheet & Web) Press Operators' Multicolor Certification Examinations and the soon to be announced Digital Imaging Certification Examination (DICE) series. The PrintStaff locations are in addition to participating PIA Affiliate Associations that presently proctor NC exams. With PrintStaff's multiple locations and years of experience qualifying print production personnel the hosting was a natural. Martin Hardiman, a partner with PrintStaff explains, "The idea of helping the industry by certifying its members skills was clearly an opportunity we could not pass up. We owe our success to the industry and felt this was a great way to acknowledge that support. We understand the importance of determining a persons skill set first hand as we would never have grown as large as we have without providing quality people". The National Council for Skill Standards in Graphic Communications is a non-profit organization that seeks to define the competency requirements for successful performance of tasks associated with the graphic arts industry. Skill Standards were developed by a collaborative group of concerned leaders from industry management, associations, education and labor, with a grant from the U.S. Departmet of Education, awarded to GATF. PrintStaff is the largest print staffing agency in the country. They supply skilled personnel for short term or long term flexible staffing (Temp), trial to hire, and direct hire placement. PrintStaff's flexible labor force has print and media experience with the specific skills you need, from cutting edge web design to traditional commercial printing.
