Danka @ the Desktop Program Launched, Non-proprietary Solutions

Press release from the issuing company

NEW YORK CITY, April 25, 2002 -- Danka Business Systems announced that it will be showcasing its new Danka @ the Desktop offering at the On Demand Digital Printing & Publishing Exposition here today. Danka @ the Desktop enables customers to better manage document workflow and printing processes, improve productivity, and lower overall document production costs. Danka @ the Desktop includes: - A workflow analysis and formal recommendation from Danka’s professional services consulting staff - A portfolio of integrated software solutions that provide control, accountability, and reporting - Implementation services and printer network optimization, and - User training and continuous improvement monitoring. As part of Danka @ the Desktop, certified system engineers will conduct an audit of a company’s workgroup requirements and recommend appropriate improvements. When implemented by Danka professionals, these non-proprietary solutions optimize the network and the usage of its copiers and printers, while providing better load balancing. Conditional rules-based software is used to route jobs to the most appropriate device--as defined by cost, finishing needs or location. Danka @ the Desktop can also enable remote job submission and tracking, queue management, and other advanced functionality. "Most companies have what we call the ‘DocuMess’-- a mix of networked and standalone devices that inhibit efficient production. Proprietary systems further increase expenses and make it difficult to optimize asset investments. Danka @ the Desktop is our solution to the DocuMess," said Don Thurman, Danka’s chief growth and marketing officer.
