With new features, such as automatic color cast removal, noise reduction and 14 new pre-configured assembly lines that cover the most common applications of publishers, media houses and photographers, OneVision Software is releasing the new version of its automatic image editing software Amendo.

Regensburg - The German software manufacturer OneVision Software offers numerous new features with its new software release Amendo 17.1, which further increase the degree of automation in the editing and processing of images: Image processing for publishers, media houses, and photographers is made much easier via the 14 new, pre-set assembly lines. Typical image production application scenarios, such as the increase of local contrast, the protection of corporate colors or pure change in the image size can be easily implemented automatically via these 14 assembly lines. The assembly lines also include Amendo's intelligent image analysis module, which recognizes portrait photos and selects a different optimization in the next step than for group pictures.

With the new "Noise reduction" function, the image processing software automatically corrects noisy images, usually caused by high ISO rating or poor light. The new "Reduce noise" option reduces noise by smoothing flat areas. Edges are largely retained. Noise reduction will only be activated if Amendo’s image analysis shows that an image is noisy.   "Remove color cast" allows even more automation. The newly added "Aggressive" mode now also removes very strong color cast automatically. The natural colors in the picture are preserved.  By combining Amendo with Workspace Pro, this automation can be further enhanced: Both the color scheme and the strength of a color cast are recognized by Amendo Analyze. These values ??can be used to further process images differently.

The Amendo InDesign Extension was significantly improved in configuration and user guidance:  with the completely newly programmed extension, layout designers can optimize images directly in InDesign without specific IT and image processing skills. OneVision provides pre-configured templates, which allow the layout artist to process images with only two clicks. This enables the designer to directly access images and the overall layout as well as make any changes.

The automatic selection of the color-matching method (rendering intent) has also been improved. The choice is based on image analysis by Amendo. Up to now, this has been determined mainly by brightness values ??of the respective image. The new version also takes saturation into account so that the exact colors can be printed even closer to the original color after conversion from RGB to CMYK. In addition, multitone images, for example, images with sepia colors, can now be optimized in PDF files. Thanks to the support of Linux as an operating system, the use of Amendo is now even more flexible.

All these new functions and modules enable the image-processing workflow to be further automated and accelerated. The result: the entire image production process becomes more efficient; considerable cost savings can be realized; the released resources can be used elsewhere.
