Press release from the issuing company

Leading Industry Experts to Reveal Latest Developments in Color Management Technology for All Print Processes and Media at April 6Half-Day Program.

Alexandria, VA - Idealliance will host a free G7 Summit on April 6, 9 a.m. to noon, at Graphics Canada 2017 at the Toronto International Centre, Toronto, Ont. The program features presentations by leading industry technology and process experts, including G7 creator Don Hutcheson of HutchColor, LLC; James Raffel, Chief Executive Officer of ColorMetrix, LLC; John Scott Thorburn, Senior Analyst-Production Solutions, Canon USA; and Timothy Baechle, Idealliance Vice President, Global Print Technologies & Workflows. There is no charge for the program, but preregistration is preferred at https://services.idealliance.org/prod/G7Summit.

G7 is an industry-leading set of specifications for achieving gray balance and is a driving force for attaining visual color consistency across all print processes, substrates, and inks, a key component in effective brand management. The G7 method outlines an easy-to-follow recipe for implementing ISO printing standards and additional metrics, resulting in a simple but powerful way to match from proof to press. Idealliance, the communications industry association representing all facets of the global omnichannel media value chain, is the developer and certifier of G7 systems, professionals, and companies.

"There have been a number of new developments in recent months related to G7, including the introduction of Extended Gamut CMYX (XCMYK) process datasets and profiles, and more advances are in the pipeline," says Baechle. "There are thousands of service providers from 17 countries that are already qualified in Idealliance's G7 Master Program and that number is growing every day. Any company that does not want to be left behind as the industry evolves and customer demands intensify needs to know and understand G7.

"The G7 Summit is the perfect opportunity to learn more about a process that has revolutionized the way printers—working with all substrates and processes—can ensure color fidelity for their customers," he continues. "The program is concise yet comprehensive, and the most knowledgeable G7 experts in the industry will be on hand to answer individual questions."

Among the informative sessions scheduled for the 2017 G7 Summit:

  • "G7101: For Every Print Medium—the Methodology that Transcends all Print"
  • "The Trajectory: GRACoL—XCMYK—Expanded Gamut"
  • "G7 Innovations in Digital Electrophotography"
  • "BrandQ: Communication & Certification in the Packaging Supply Chain—This is Our Recipe"
  • The Fourth Industrial Revolution: Inkjet, Industrial, Specialty, and Dye Sublimation Printing"
  • "Psst…We are Talking to You…and YES, We Have G7 Certification Programs Specifically for You."

"Whether you are already a certified G7 Expert, an experienced premedia and print production professional, someone who is curious about how G7 works and its potential impact on your company's competitiveness, or you just want some insights into the newest process technologies in our industry, this half-day program will give you information that you can put to use in your business," adds Baechle.
