Midstate Printing Selects Eight-Color Komori GL40 Perfector with LED-UV to Replace Three Competitive Presses

Press release from the issuing company

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL - Komori America announced that Midstate Printing, a solutions based print and communications company in Syracuse, NY, recently purchased an eight-color Lithrone G40 perfector with LED-UV (GL840P) to replace three competitive presses in operation on its pressroom floor. Midstate Printing is a G7 Master Printer serving a wide range of industries that includes higher education, corporate communications, pharma, the American Red Cross and more, all who demand high-quality output. As a full-service print provider specializing in difficult and complicated applications, the GL840P offered the company the advanced technology required to produce stunning, dense color on difficult stocks, like uncoated or matte, and get unique jobs to customers in record speed.

“Our best customers are those who have complicated print requirements, so having the latest technology in-house is critical to helping them achieve their goals,” said Thomas House, COO for Midstate Printing. “After reviewing three of the top press manufacturers in the industry, we chose Komori. Not only does this press have the innovative technology we wanted, Komori’s approach to continued advancement fits with our culture. The GL840P offers such advanced automation and fast job cycle time that we were able to retire three presses because of the robust capabilities this one press can deliver.”

With a variety of automatic devices and systems, such as the KHS-AI integrated control system, a full automatic plate-changing system (APC) and the ability for printed items to cure instantly with LED-UV, the company plans to enjoy a more efficient, streamlined production process; cutting its makeready to minutes and significantly shortening the time from receipt of materials to delivery because finishing work such as cutting, die cutting and folding can be performed immediately.

“The GL840P can easily handle more unique, complex applications all while optimizing efficiency,” said Mark Hopkins, vice president of sales, Komori America. “We look forward to working with Midstate Printing as they explore both the creativity and streamlined production capabilities of their new press.”
