ABOX Packaging Joins the Paperboard Packaging Council

Press release from the issuing company

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) announced that ABOX Packaging (ABOXpackaging.com) has joined the association. PPC is the North American trade association for independent and integrated paperboard packaging manufacturers and their suppliers.

Established in 1975, ABOX was acquired by current owner Keith Thompson in 2004. With multiple locations throughout Texas, ABOX provides folding cartons to a broad customer base in the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, office supply, home improvement, telecom, and health and beauty industries.

With a dedication to its customers and an eye to the future, ABOX always strives to expand its services and capabilities. The firm established a rigid box manufacturing facility in 2009 and opened a digital division in 2015. At that time, they had the only HP Indigo 30000 packaging press in the southern U.S. In its latest move, ABOX is expanding into a new 150,000 square foot facility this spring to accommodate existing business and future growth.

ABOX offers custom fulfillment services, inventory management solutions, and a variety of sustainable options including soy-based inks, recycled board, and recycled shipping containers. ABOX also recycles its unused materials, sending more than 100 tons to the recycling facility each month.

“PPC’s board of directors, members, and staff send a warm welcome to ABOX,” said Ben Markens, PPC president. “With each new member, the association gains more strength and knowledge. And this means more value for everyone as well as a more powerful voice for promoting and protecting our industry.”

“We are excited to get involved with PPC,” said Thompson. “We believe that membership in the association will help us learn industry best practices as well as new technologies and trends. Ultimately, it should help us plot our business strategy and stay on track.”

PPC members receive access to the only folding carton exclusive data reporting program in the industry, webinars, white papers, and legislative updates. They get opportunities to attend informative biannual conferences, discounted registration to key training sessions like Folding Carton Boot Camp, and can also participate in publicity-generating programs such as TICCIT and the North American Paperboard Packaging Competition. PPC also facilities several communities of interest, including the Rigid Box Committee, the Canadian Converters Committee, the Women’s Leadership Committee, and the New Generation Leaders group.
