iTek Installs Eight Color Lithrone G40 with Perfector and H-UV to Support Business Growth

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL - Komori America Corporation today announced that iTek, a full-service commercial printing company located near Charlotte, North Carolina, has purchased its second Komori press to accommodate the fast growth the company is experiencing. iTek's wide-ranging customer base includes manufacturers, well-known retail chains, advertising agencies, publishers and professional sports teams. The company chose the eight-color Lithrone G40 with perfector (GL840P) and the H-UV™ system for its advanced technology that is increasing the company’s output capacity and immediately delivering on efficiency and cost savings.

"We had an excellent experience with our first Komori and the service and support were tremendous," said John Rawlins, president of iTek. "We were ready to increase our output capacity with eight colors, the addition of a perfector and an upgrade to the H-UV technology. With our new Komori, we can accomplish a makeready time on a 4-color job on both sides of the sheet with 50 sheets of paper in under four minutes. We can pump out a lot of volume on this machine.”

The Komori GL840P is fully automated with asynchronous plate changing and can print both sides of a sheet in one pass, doubling the company's throughput speed and helping to reduce costs. Additionally, the H-UV ink curing system allows printed sheets to come off the press completely dry. With multiple varnish and coating options, including gloss/satin/dull UV coating, soft touch aqueous and strike-through varnish, iTek is able to offer one-of-a-kind pieces that stand apart from the competition.

“We are extremely pleased that iTek is enjoying the high level of automation the Lithrone G40 is bringing to its pressroom and the efficiencies and cost savings gained from its performance,” said Mark Hopkins, vice-president of sales for Komori America. “We look forward to watching them expand their business with the capabilities of the GL840P.”
