PPC to Convene Female Leaders in the Paper Packaging Industry

Press release from the issuing company

SPRINGFIELD, MA - The Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) will host its biannual Women’s Leadership Workshop on Wed., Mar. 29, 2017 in Charlotte, NC. The half-day immersive event will take place in tandem with PPC’s Spring Meeting at the Charlotte Marriott City Center.

Facilitated by Dr. Ann Bowers-Evangelista, executive coach, business consultant, and President of Llumos, LLC, the workshop will bring female leaders in the paperboard packaging industry together to share common experiences and participate in structured learning sessions.

The March workshop will focus around the art and science of successful negotiations. Beginning with the understanding that we are always in a state of negotiation—from the Board room to the family table—Bowers-Evangelista will lead discussion about advocating for one’s position while maintaining diplomacy and good relationships.

“Negotiation is a powerful tool in both business and broader life,” says Bowers-Evangelista. “Through lively learning, practice, and real-life application, attendees to PPC’s Women’s Leadership Workshop should leave with both the knowledge and confidence they need to successfully carry out their next negotiation.”

The workshop is the fourth women’s leadership offering of its kind. The inaugural session took place in 2015 after a group of longtime PPC members formed the Women’s Leadership Committee to create programming and forums specifically for the modern female leader. Past sessions focused on unique challenges in the industry, the importance of mentorship, understanding and harnessing conflict, and facilitating effective meetings.

“I am pleased that PPC has added a Women’s Leadership Group to their Spring and Fall meeting agenda. It’s a great opportunity for our industry’s women to meet, learn, connect, and be re-energized,” says Katherine Roehlke, chair of PPC’s Board of Directors and co-chair of the Women’s Leadership Committee.
