Eastman Kodak will be featuring process color inkjet imprinting utilizing KODAK S-Series Imprinting Systems at speeds up to 1000 fpm (305 mpm) on a Graphic Systems Services (GSS) continuous web inkjet transport at the upcoming Hunkeler Innovation Days on February 20-23 at the Messe Lucerne Exhibition Center. Kodak will be demonstrating their Stream Inkjet Technology on the GSS TDC series (Tower, Dryer, Carriage) inkjet transport using the adphos NIR WEB III dryers. This innovative system can be integrated with any existing web press to imprint monochrome or process color images at press speeds.
The superior KODAK PROSPER Stream inkjet technology offers offset-class variable printing. Print registration of the four process colors are controlled on the GSS transport unit with an Axode camera system. KODAK PROSPER technology provides flexible solutions which can be integrated into a variety of offset and flexo press solutions that enable printing of a wide range of applications and makes longer run lengths of variable data printing possible… and profitable.
The GSS inkjet transport being demonstrated will use adphos NIRWEB III dryers as an integral part of the equipment design. The adphosNIR® drying technique provides minimal effects on substrates (Heating, Cockle and Curl). Greater productivity on finishing lines is achieved resulting in higher quality finished products for Direct Mail, Books, Publications, Statements and more.
The completed GSS and Kodak solution on display will incorporate Hunkeler High-speed POPP8 generation Hunkeler technology capable to transport a 20 inch-wide web (508 millimeters) from the Hunkeler UW8 unwind module to the RW8 rewind module at web speeds up to 300 meters per minute.
