MBO Equipment Allows  Golden Image Graphics to Expand Services for  High-End Cosmetics and Pharmaceutical Clients

Press release from the issuing company

Philadelphia - Leading finishing equipment supplier MBO America has installed a new M8 folder and two delivery systems at Golden Image Graphics of Bellport, New York.  Owner and President David Bernstein says that these additions allow the 25-year-old company to offer additional services to its internationally renowned, New York metropolitan area clients.

"We can start with a 28" wide sheet and get it down to one-and-a-half inches," Bernstein says, referring to a commonly requested size for inserts.  "And there's more: now we can do many more types of folds, and so we are attracting companies doing some of the most progressive, award-winning work in the world."

Bernstein, who worked in a family bindery and was a trade printer before he chose to focus on specialty finishing, says that Golden Image is now equipped to do one-of-a-kind and conventional accordion folding, as well as intricate, customer-patented fold work. In addition, the company will soon add another MBO device and modules to increase capabilities and capacity.

Aside from a commitment to purchasing the best equipment for the job, Bernstein says that a unique set of circumstances combined to set Golden Image apart. To begin with, he says that he realized that the business, for him, "clicked" in both a mathematical and artistic way. After years of working in the bindery, he became interested in printing.

When he left the family business to open Golden Image in 1991, Bernstein provided both print and finishing services. His talents skewed toward finishing, however; and with increasing proficiency, Bernstein enhanced "regular" jobs through unusual die cutting and embossing techniques, and also learned to calculate gang runs with unmatched precision. The health and beauty market took notice, and when major pharmaceutical and cosmetics conglomerates increasingly called for Golden Image finishing, Bernstein decided to go back to focusing on his core finishing business.

"The most important variable, though, is my integrity," Bernstein says. "I want to sleep at night, knowing I've done the best work I can for someone. I want my kids to see the importance of that."

Bernstein says that his commitment to integrity makes him gravitate to others who are like-minded: "My representative at MBO, Paul Kuchta, and everyone I've dealt with in service, and training, has been the same.

"I've got the formula down," Bernstein says. "The formula is the combination of me, my staff, our expertise, and MBO equipment. It's working."
