Fort Orange Press Adds to Impressive Roster of Digital Print Production with Purchase of Multiple Oce and Canon Equipment

Press release from the issuing company

Albany NY - Robert F. Witko, President and CEO, states “We are very excited to increase our production capabilities with the addition of an OCE 10000 Flex Press. As one of the fastest digital web presses on the market, the 10000 Flex offers us the flexibility of automated and variable print capabilities with a full complement of in-line finishing provided by Tecnau, Inc. such as variable perforating, cutting, stacking and slip merging.” Fort Orange Press will be using this equipment, in part, to print Election Day ballots for various county Boards of Election throughout New York State.

In conjunction with the acquisition of the OCE 10000 Flex, Fort Orange Press has also purchased, two OCE Vario Print 6250 presses to increase the companies monochrome printing capabilities. At a delivered rate of 520 two-sided 8.5 x 11 sheets per minute, Fort Orange Press offers a level of production capabilities second to none in the industry.

In addition to these assets, a color Canon 10000 imagePress has also been added to better handle the demands of the ever changing color digital market. At a resolution of 2400 DPI, “Fort Orange Press can compete with any digital color press on the market,” says Witko, “with three imagePresses, our digital color capacity is simply unparalleled.”

A commercial offset sheet-fed and digital printer, Fort Orange Press has rapidly grown its digital press department over the past three years to include a total of eight color and black and white presses. The addition of the OCE 10000 Flex gives Fort Orange Press its first web capabilities that can produce up to 500,000 pieces in an eight-hour shift.

With increased speed and decreased production costs, Fort Orange Press has also enhanced its market position to its commercial customer base, now being able to offer more cost effective direct marketing and book printing collateral.
