The Xeikon CX3 is the 3rd Xeikon Press in operation at Belgium based label manufacturer Label’Or

Press release from the issuing company

Eede, the Netherlands – A double digit annual growth in sales and international recognition by winning awards for their innovative high quality products has confirmed that Label’Or has chosen the right strategy by investing in digital technology. In June the company added two prestigious awards to their list. Label’Or won the awards at the annual congress of FINAT, the international association of label manufacturers. They won the first prize in “dry toner digital printing” for a label produced on transparent material, with – according to the jury – “excellent opacity of the covering white, which enhanced the brightness of the colours.” They also won the first overall prize in digital printing.

Label’Or is based in Lontzen, Belgium and specializes in the manufacturing and printing of self-adhesive labels on rolls in small and medium-sized runs as well as larger runs, divided into several versions. Soon after their first investment in a Xeikon 3300, five colour digital press, the family owned company realised the potential of combining the efficiency of their traditional production with the flexibility of digital solutions. The demand for small runs and variable output was effectively met by using the new technology. The quick return on investment made it possible to invest in a second Xeikon 3300, which was followed by a third Xeikon press last year, the Xeikon CX3.

Jean-Marie Peters, founder of Label’Or, says: “Today, more than half of all productions at Label’Or is digital. The quality easily meets the high standards of their clients and they can offer the renowned benefits of Xeikon label presses, including the use of dry toners that meet FDA regulations for food contact and the ability to print opaque white toner in one pass.”.

Following the trend of shorter product life cycles, an increasing amount of versions and personalised products, demand for digital print continuous to grow at Label’Or. The company management plans to extend the production site, which should be ready at the fortieth anniversary of the company in 2018. With twice the size of the plant there will also be room for more investments in new digital presses and other technology.

Since their transition to digital in 2008 Label’Or has become one of the leading label manufacturers in its field. With the recent acknowledgement of winning the FINAT Awards and the growing demand for new and innovative products Label’Or is confident that their digital strategy is the right way forward.
