Flint Ink Announces New VP, General Manager, Digital Division

ANN ARBOR, MI (June 21, 2002) Flint Ink, the world's largest privately-owned ink manufacturer, has appointed Dr. Kenneth Stack as vice president/general manager of the company's Digital Division. Dr. Stack will direct global market and product development in this rapidly growing market segment. Dr. Stack comes to Flint Ink from Eastman Kodak where he held several positions in digital printing, most recently as Director, Inkjet Printing Systems Business. "Digital printing is becoming an integral and growing segment of the world printing market, and our customers require increasingly sophisticated products and technical services to support their work in this arena. Flint Ink's experience in ink and pigment technology makes digital products a natural extension of our business," says Dr. Joseph Raksis, senior vice president, research and new market development for Flint Ink. "Ken's experience in digital printing will be a significant asset in the future development of Flint Ink's digital business." Dr. Stack's experience at Eastman Kodak also included stints as Commercialization Manager and Laboratory Head, Inkjet Printing Systems. Prior to joining Eastman Kodak, Dr. Stack founded MMH Technologies, Inc., a full service consulting, training, and research firm specializing in printing systems. Educated at the University of Rochester, Dr. Stack holds numerous degrees, including a BS, MS, and Ph. D in Mechanical Engineering. He also earned an MBA in Marketing/Entrepreneurship at the William E. Simon School of Business, Rochester, NY. Dr. Stack is an active member of ASME, and the Society of Imaging Science. He has published numerous technical papers and is regularly sought for industry speaking engagements. Currently Dr. Stack has 3 US patents with 5 others under review. Flint Ink's Digital Division offers a full range of quality-engineered products, including Drop on Demand (DOD), Continuous Ink Jet (CIJ) and custom formulations. Flint Ink's ARROWJETTM range of DOD ink jet inks include water-based, solvent-based, and UV-curable ink systems for DOD piezo printing heads. The CIJ ink systems are both water and solvent-based and can be used on Scitex, Domino, Marconi, and Imaje printers. Applications for both ink systems include addressing, direct mail, security, packaging, and promotion pieces.
