Being a Total Solutions Partner means supporting the converter through the entire operation. Mark Andy offers ProWORX digital front end software, developed to fully support both digital and flexo workflows. With guidance from the Mark Andy Print Products group, this powerful solution can be used to support characterization of equipment, ensuring a consistent quality product can be produced across any print technology. Mark Andy will demonstrate this on floor at Labelexpo, by printing the same label on all 3 printing technologies being displayed, with the result being a consistent quality look and feel label, giving more flexibility to the converter to choose how best to print their book of work to produce the most profits.

At Labelexpo, Mark Andy will introduce Digital One, a new entry-level digital printing and converting label press perfect for the shortest of runs. As an all-in-one press, it offers 4-color CMYK digital process printing on a pay-as-you-go model, with a servo-driven flexo station and inline finishing capabilities for die cutting, stripping, and slitting. Digital One features a web width of 13 inches with printing speeds of 63 fpm and the ability to run various substrates including pressure-sensitive paper and film, unsupported paper, and tag stock.

For production-level short runs, Mark Andy offers the Digital Series hybrid production system, first introduced to the market in 2014. The Digital Series is a customizable printing press built on the highly successful Performance Series platform. It offers CMYK plus white UV inkjet printing with any number of inline flexo and converting stations installed on either side of the inkjet module. The Digital Series offers a high level of print quality with run speeds up to 240 fpm.

Converters that want to add digital printing capability to their existing flexo machines can take advantage of the Digital Plus program. Mark Andy and Colordyne Technologies have formed a partnership to retrofit 2200 and 4150 legacy presses incorporating Colordyne’s 3600 Series 4-color water-based inkjet platform. Customers that have integrated this digital printing solution into legacy 2200 presses have reported great success. Additional retrofit capabilities will be built into the Digital Plus program in the coming months.

For production-level long runs, look no further than the latest Mark Andy Performance Series. Focused on providing solutions for the narrow web converter looking to enter the growing flexible packaging market, the Performance Series at Labelexpo will highlight low migration inks cured with the latest generation Mark Andy ProLED solution, then laminated in-line with Mark Andy’s unique solvent-free lamination delivery system, all at speeds of up to 1000fpm. This proprietary lamination solution results produces food-grade laminated structures directly off press.

These solutions will be alongside Rotoflex offline digital and conventional web finishing solutions, emphasizing the breadth of end-to-end solutions available from Mark Andy. Rotoflex’s newest Business Responsive Technology is the HSI, designed for high-volume label slitting, inspection, and rewinding. Available in widths of 13 or 17 inch, it runs at speeds up to 1,000 fpm with an extra-large inspection table and easily accessible slitting modules.
