Rutherford Graphic Products expands closed-loop color at Graph Expo 16

Press release from the issuing company

DAYTON, OH - Rutherford Graphic Products, a leading developer of closed-loop color control systems for offset presses, announces that it will be expanding its product portfolio by introducing three product enhancements at Graph Expo 16. Rutherford closed-loop color control solutions are designed to assist commercial and offset packaging printers manage color on-press automatically and will be on display in Booth #2480 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, on Sept. 25-28, 2016.

RGProof
Rutherford will introduce an entry-level low-cost soft proofing system that will be incorporated into the IntelliSet Presetting system. High resolution TIFF proofs are sent directly to the press console, allowing press operators to do content proofing, as well as color proofing when paired with a color corrected monitor. The soft proof will automatically appear for a job when it is preset and paired with Rutherford’s closed-loop color control system.

Real-time Quality Data Dashboard
A new dashboard will be introduced that displays performance data in real-time for all presses equipped with Intelliset and/or IntelliLoop. Bar graphs and statistical charts are created for each job on all presses that scan color bars with the Rutherford systems. Large-screen monitors can be mounted in the pressroom for management to observe or can be accessed by any web browser.

Signal Tower
A visible confirmation of color critical functions during a press run is communicated by a new Signal Tower (light stack annunciator) that will be introduced at Graph Expo. Press operators can see a “green light” when an assigned percentage of all patches on a color bar are within tolerance. The same light stack will assign another color to a condition where an assigned percentage of the patches is out of tolerance. Flashing colors can remind a press operator to perform color scans after a certain amount of time has elapsed or a certain number of impressions have been made.

At Graph Expo, visitors can also learn about:

  • IntelliLoop™, a full-featured closed-loop color control solution that works in conjunction with X-Rite’s IntelliTrax. Advanced features of IntelliLoop allow for reading ink key openings and sweeps immediately following scans, assuring effective key moves that get to color quickly. There is also a “roll-back” feature permitting key-openings and sweep settings from any previous scan to be automatically loaded.
  • IntelliSet™, which leverages the digitization of color information included in the CIP data from prepress to automatically preset the ink keys, eliminating manual adjustments at the print console.
