Quality Park Products Receives Award for Employee Development Program

ST. GEORGE, Utah, June 19 -- Quality Park Products, a Mail-Well company with a major envelope manufacturing and distribution facility in St. George, Utah, announced that it has received an award recognizing the Mail-Well University Adjuster Training Program as the outstanding employee development program in the state of Utah. The statewide award was given by the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), a non-profit group that helps to develop world-class manufacturing solutions in Utah. Founded in the early 1980s by the federal government, MEP's mission is to provide affordable consulting services to small and mid- sized companies. The MEP award for "employee development" was presented to Ron Barry, corporate trainer for Quality Park Products by Dave Sorenson, executive director of MEP. Mail-Well University is Mail-Well's corporate training, development and change initiative and a strategic umbrella for developing and educating Mail- Well's employees, customers and suppliers. It supports the company's belief in life-long learning and continuous improvement. Training programs are available to Mail-Well employees company-wide and are conducted on a wide range of topics including safety practices, sales, continuous improvement processes, leadership skills and communications, among others. "I have not seen a program so dedicated to employee training as the adjuster training program at Quality Park Products," said James Peterson, project manager/field engineer with MEP. "We are honored that Quality Park Products and our Mail-Well University Adjuster Training Program have been recognized by MEP," said Jim Downey, corporate director of organizational development at Mail-Well and dean of Mail-Well University. Bob Hart, CEO of Mail-Well's Envelope Segment said, "Course Director Ron Barry, MWU Course Manager Megan Wulf and all Envelope Segment team members, plant personnel, adjuster trainers and students deserve a lot of the credit for the success of this program." Quality Park Products is a leading manufacturer and distributor of envelopes and business paper products in the U.S. and Canada. The company's St. George manufacturing plant and distribution center employ more than 125 people.
