HP to Sell $1.25 Billion of Senior Unsecured Global Notes

PALO ALTO, Calif.- June 19, 2002--HP today announced plans to sell $1.25 billion of senior unsecured Global Notes, expected to be split evenly between five and ten-year tranches, pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement (registration statement number 333-83346). Banc of America Securities, Deutsche Bank Securities, and JP Morgan are joint bookrunning managers for this transaction. HP's existing debt is rated "A3" by Moody's Investors Service, "A-" by Standard & Poor's and "A" by Fitch Ratings, in each case with a negative outlook.
