Canon Solutions America Examines New Opportunities with Floor Graphics for Print Service Providers

Press release from the issuing company

MELVILLE, N.Y. - Promotional and informational graphics are everywhere –even on the floor. From retail stores to event venues to office spaces, these days everyone is jumping on board to take advantage of the space beneath our feet. Floor graphics give organizations another way to reach consumers and to bolster both awareness and revenue.

Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., makes it easy for print service providers to take advantage of the growing floor graphics trend – and create new business opportunities, with the right large format print technologies, substrates, and services.

Opportunities Afoot for Print Service Providers
Organizations of all types and sizes are recognizing the value of floor graphics, as a marketing and advertising vehicle to reach customers and prospects. This trend presents a significant opportunity for print service providers to address this rising demand to expand services to existing customers as well as to attract new ones. By offering services for high-quality, customized floor graphics – for indoor and outdoor use – print service providers can introduce a new application to drive revenue and further stand out from their competition.

Creating Floor Graphics is Easier than Ever
Traditionally, floor graphics required a multistep process – printed images would be covered with a slip-resistant laminate on top and an adhesive on the bottom to secure the graphic to the floor. They were often cumbersome to apply and frequently required professional installation.

However, advancements in today's printers and substrates make this process much easier. Print service providers can now print directly on adhesive vinyl and place a laminate on top to protect the image, allowing the graphic to be secured directly to the floor. Some of these adhesive substrates do not even need to be laminated, creating a "print and go" floor graphic. Print service providers can simply print the image to a laminated, slip-resistant adhesive vinyl that can be trimmed as needed and quickly and easily placed by the customer – without the need of an installer.

Additionally, substrates with stronger adhesive and a durable top coating allow users to expand their use of floor graphics outdoors – whether it is for a one-day event or long-term use at a theme park or restaurant drive thru.

The Right Partner Makes All the Difference
To take advantage of the growing floor graphics market, print service providers need a complete solution. That means selecting a partner that not only meets their equipment needs, but also offers a wide range of suitable substrates; provides consulting and support services; and has the knowledge and expertise to help providers implement the printing solution that best meets their unique requirements.
