PrintExpress Production Management Ported to Windows Environment

Press release from the issuing company

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL, June 19, 2002 — alfaQuest Technologies, Inc. formerly Monotype Systems Inc., announced today the release of its PrintExpress and PrintExpress Consolidated Production Management (CPM) systems for Windows. PrintExpress is a modular, third-generation suite of software that can be configured to meet any publishing output management requirement. It’s software modules include complete PostScript and PDF workflows, raster image processing, remote transmission, page imposition, bitmap merging, page furniture application, soft proofing, network proofing, standard and custom ink presetting, and complete page and plate tracking. PrintExpress is tightly integrated with pagination, page planning and press control systems. PrintExpress’ client-server modules can be installed in a distributed environment on many separate platforms or consolidated on fault-tolerant servers in a CPM configuration. The PrintExpress Consolidated Production Management system’s advanced technology is unique to alfaQuest. Previously available only on Sun Microsystems platforms, PrintExpress and PrintExpress CPM for Windows expands alfaQuest’s product line that includes complete Sun, Microsoft Windows and Macintosh workflow and imaging solutions. "We have been incredibly successful with our Sun PrintExpress products, especially our consolidated systems," said Dennis Nierman, President of alfaQuest. "It just makes sense to eliminate all the extra hardware and support required by distributed systems. Nothing can match CPM’s performance, fault tolerance, low maintenance requirements or configurability for affordable disaster recovery".
