Allen Datagraph advises Labelexpo visitors not to make a purchase until they see the whites of their printers

Press release from the issuing company

New CMYK+White printer at aggressive price point highlights an extensive line of printers and finishers at the Allen Datagraph booth #6110

Derry, NH (USA) – Allen Datagraph (ADSI) will feature the introduction of a new CMYK+White printer and the ability to print white on its existing printers at booth #6110 during Labelexpo Americas 2016. Demonstrations of the ADSI iTech CENTRA 5, and ADSI iTech SPECTRUM with white option will show converters and printers how they can use white to print on clear or colored substrates, or use white as a design element. Allen Datagraph will also display its iTech CYPHER digital label printer, iTech CENTRA digital label finisher, and iTech AXXIS XL digital label finisher.

Allen Datagraph is known as an innovative manufacturer of short run digital label systems that produce fully finished labels, in any shape without dies, for a fraction of the cost of other digital presses—with low, on-going operational expenses. The company's digital label systems are used by printers, converters and brand owners to create high-quality labels, 'on demand'.

Allen Datagraph's latest digital press, the iTech CENTRA 5 LED toner label printer, is capable of printing white along with a full complement of CMYK. This means that any designer is given full reign to print full graphics, including contone (photo) images, on a wide assortment of label substrates. It is capable of printing full color CMYK with a dense, white underprint on clear and colored substrates, or a white overprint for graphic elements, It does so at an acquisition cost that is the lowest in the industry. The iTech Centra 5 can print CMYK at 50 ft/minute or CMYK plus White at 41 ft/minute on roll stock up to 12.5" in width. The single pass technology offers accurate color registration—important for small type on labels—and provides excellent, vibrant color. Configurations start at $49,995.

"We had been hearing for some time that the market needed a five-color solution at an affordable price point," notes Michael Elliott, President at Allen Datagraph Systems, Inc. “We’ve worked with our long-standing partner, OKI Data, and created the CENTRA 5, to address this need. With its CMYK + white configuration, the CENTRA 5 represents a new class of digital label printing devices, incorporating unmatched capabilities at a fraction of the price of competing devices.”

CMYW printer from Allen Datagraph

The iTech SPECTRUM LED toner digital label printer will also be featured, with a new white toner option.

This option lets converters print with flood white on clear or colored substrates, allowing the colors to pop. White can also be used for a graphic element to stand out on the page. The white option will allow the user to easily switch between CMYK or CMYW printing.

The iTech SPECTRUM is a fast narrow-web digital label printer, capable of printing up to 25 feet per minute, in part due to an improved, straight-through paper path—which also lets the iTech SPECTRUM print more efficiently and helps contribute to a lower acquisition cost. High quality labels are assured at 600dpi x 1200 dpi. The ADSI iTech SPECTRUM printer is capable of printing on either pre-diecut or continuous roll substrates. It prints on most standard pressure sensitive paper substrates, which are typically half to a third the cost of inkjet substrates. White, metallic and clear polyester films are also available.

ADSI iTech CENTRA HS Wide Web Digital Label Finisher

The roll-to-roll iTech CENTRA HS Digital Label Finisher can laminate and contour-cut labels of any size and shape on-demand, without a die. As with all iTech digital finishers, print to cut registration is accomplished via the SMARTMark Optical Registration System, using the Allen DirectCut plug-in to Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw for vector-based die lines. The digital finisher also strips the waste matrix and slits to dual rewinds enabling finished labels to be hand or machine applied. Its touch screen interface makes it easy to set up and operate.

ADSI iTech AXXIS XL: Using unique technology for a faster narrow web digital label finisher

The 30 feet per minute speed of the ADSI iTech AXXIS XL digital label printer helps to bring high-end performance and productivity to narrow web. The narrow, up to 8.5" format finisher can laminate, cut without the need for dies, strip, slit, and re-wind labels at speeds of 30 feet/min. It does so by using a completely unique vacuum accumulator technology. Rather than relying on gravity or mechanically assisted accumulators, the media rides along a “pillow of air”, its motion, constantly monitored by an array of LEDs and sensors—creating a smoother, faster transport mechanism. With fewer moving parts, reliability increases, as well. Additional new features for narrow web are larger 14" input and output roll capabilities for longer unattended operation, and continuous cutting to provide a smoother slit before the rewind. Like all of ADSI’s digital label finishers, the iTech AXXIS XL uses SMARTMark Optical Registration technology.

ADSI iTech CYPHER: A 100 feet per minute inkjet digital label printer

Allen Datagraph has leveraged the successful HP PageWide inkjet technology to create its ADSI iTech CYPHER digital label printer. With resolutions up to 1200x2400, the CYPHER will produce high quality labels using durable pigment inks for deep blacks and vivid colors—all at a low cost of ownership. The new, fast roll-to-roll inkjet print engine delivers speeds up to 20 inches per second, and is capable of printing on either pre-diecut or continuous roll substrates.

"It is an exciting time for Allen Datagraph," concludes Elliott. "Adding white capabilities to our printers allows for our customers to create high-value label applications. We look forward to delivering innovative cost-effective label systems to converters and print providers, alike."
