Roland DGA Expands TrueVIS Line with Launch of New Value-Packed SG-300 and SG-540 Wide-Format Printer/Cutters

Press release from the issuing company

Irvine, Calif. – Roland DGA Corporation has introduced its latest additions to the TrueVIS™family of wide-format eco-solvent inkjets – the 30-inch and 54-inch SG series printer/cutters – delivering vibrant color plus high-quality printing and contour cutting at an attractive price point.

The TrueVIS brand represents Roland’s newest generation of inkjet printer/cutter machines, combining proven technology with expertise developed over many years in the sign and graphics industries. As part of the TrueVIS line, the SG series offers unmatched versatility, reliability and ease-of-use, along with a host of significant enhancements. Two newly-designed Roland DG FlexFire™ print heads, new cost-effective 4-color eco-solvent TrueVIS INK, improved integrated cutting technology and a Bluetooth-enabled Roland DG MobilePanel all ensure outstanding productivity. Both the 54-inch and 30-inch SG models are ideal for a wide range of applications, including indoor and outdoor advertising, vehicle graphics, banners, posters and displays, labels and decals, apparel heat transfers, and more.

“To succeed in today’s competitive market, a sign shop or print service provider needs to provide high quality output while keeping operating costs as low as possible,” said Daniel Valade, Roland DGA’s product manager, color products. “That’s where our new TrueVIS SG series printer/cutters stand out. The advanced capabilities of these next-generation inkjets, along with the incredible overall value and low cost of ownership, make them unbeatable for those just starting out in wide-format or looking to expand production.”

The SG-300 and SG-540 are equipped with two Roland DG FlexFire print heads that fire precision droplets in three sizes and a wide print swath for high-quality output and efficient ink usage. Every drop of ink falls exactly where it is intended, delivering beautiful images and uniform colors. The combination of TrueVIS INK, engineered specifically for the FlexFire print head, and Roland’s feature-rich VersaWorks® Dual RIP software, allows for stunning detail and vibrant colors at production speeds. The increased productivity of the SG series printer/cutters, which are up to 60 percent faster than previous comparable models in high quality mode, maximizes both efficiency and profitability.

TrueVIS INK – the next evolution in eco-solvent ink technology – satisfies user demand for competitively- priced ink with low consumption and a wider color gamut, while also meeting strict environmental standards. It’s available in economical 500 cc pouches that fit neatly into reusable cartridges which slide into a hidden ink bay for clean, safe use and less waste.

Roland DG introduced printing and cutting technology in 1996. The SG series represents Roland DG’s most advanced integrated print/cut technology to date. A new cut carriage and blade holder provides greater downforce and accuracy, expanding the media options available and maximizing sales opportunities.

SG series printer/cutters are designed to be incredibly user-friendly for all operators – from novices to seasoned professionals. New Roland VersaWorks Dual RIP software, included with the SG-300 and SG-540, features a new core engine that quickly and accurately processes both native PDFs as well as legacy PostScript files, including files with transparencies. In addition to featuring a built-in control panel, SG models boast a Roland DG Mobile Panel that enables users to manage printer functions remotely using a smartphone or tablet with a Bluetooth connection.

“Our new SG series offers users TrueVIS quality, versatility and efficiency and ease-of-use at an affordable price,” noted Valade. “In addition to enabling shops to expand their product offerings, handle a wider scope of jobs and produce customer-pleasing output, SG printer/cutters come with legendary Roland reliability and support. Users can expect excellent performance and low operating and material costs, with very little maintenance required. Plus, Roland will be with them every step of the way to make sure they’re getting the most out of their equipment.”

Priced at $11,995 and $14,995, respectively, the SG-300 and SG-540 are available now through authorized Roland dealers.
