SGP Announces Piedmont Plastics as New Gold-level SGP Patron

Sayville, NY - The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP), the leading non-profit accreditation organization that promotes sustainability in the printing industry, announced Piedmont Plastics as the newest SGP Patron at the gold level.
 
Piedmont Plastics has expanded its support of SGP and will have a key role in the 2016 Printing Industry Sustainability Conference on Sept. 13, 2016 in Las Vegas NV. Brett Thompson, Piedmont Plastics` Graphic Market Manager will participate on a panel of SGP's substrate manufactures and distributors to discuss what is happening in the world of substrates.
 
For more than 45 years, Piedmont Plastics has been a leading supplier of the most recognized and dependable brands in the industry. With more than 40 locations, Piedmont is continuously making strides towards complete sustainable business practices. The company has implemented a full scale scrap/recycling buyback program for its customers to help them reduce costs or amount of scrap on hand. In addition, Piedmont has deskside recycling, uses filtrated water instead of bottled water, properly disposes of electronics, batteries, chemicals, hazardous waste and recycles all printer cartridges. The company is in the process of installing energy efficient windows and replacing lighting throughout its warehouses with energy efficient LED bulbs. 
 
Due to the breadth of initiatives that the company has undertaken, Piedmont has been awarded the International Association of Plastic Distributors 2015 Bronze level Green Scene award and SGIA's Sustainability Recognition Award.
