EDSF Announces Scholarship Awards for 2016-2017 Give Back @ Graph Benefits Scholarship Program

Press release from the issuing company

HURST, Texas - The Electronic Document Scholarship Foundation (EDSF), an international non-profit organization dedicated to developing and providing programs to attract support for the education plans of selected students worldwide is pleased to announce its’ scholarship awards for 2016-17. EDSF’s scholarship program makes it possible for students to receive the education necessary to pursue careers in the Document Management and Graphic Communications industry. What makes EDSF unique is the international scope of their operations. Since the inception of its scholarship program in 1999, EDSF has awarded 633 scholarships to exceptional students in the Unites States and other countries including Australia, Belarus, Canada, China, Dubai, Iceland, Italy, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russian Federation, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.

This year EDSF is proud to announce that 42 scholarships to students across the globe were awarded. A complete list of students and our sponsors is available here (PDF). “At this time of year when everyone seems to be focused on the process and excitement of going ‘back to school,’ we are focused on providing the critical financial support necessary to help keep the dreams of students in our industry alive and well. With the generous donations from our Board of Directors combined with industry and individual donations, we are very proud to be able to help many of these bright young people take another big step toward their goals”, said Brenda Kai, EDSF Executive Director.

Kai added that, “Industry support continues to be the lifeblood of our scholarship program. No one knows what dream might have died or what future industry star may have taken a different path if they had not received financial aid from your generosity. What we do know is that we have tremendous success stories from those that did receive aid and how important your contributions are is reflected in the comments of a few of our students:”

Following are remarks from several of our 2016-17 scholarship recipients:

Tavin Boynton, Senior, Graphic Communication, CalPoly

“Being raised in a small town and now attending a great big university, I find it incredible all the opportunities available with hard work and perseverance. My education has allowed me to teach design at a university in Europe, travel across the country for freelance work, and co-found a startup. I am indebted to EDSF for supporting me in my endeavors and encouraging me to chase my greatest ambitions.”

Stephanie Hsu, Masters, Packaging Design, Pratt Institute

“As an international student, attending college in the United States can be costly. Receiving an EDSF Scholarship will financially assist my pursuit of a Master of Science in Packaging Design at Pratt Institute, a program that has peeked my interest since studying design. I truly look forward to the experiences and challenges that this program has to offer in the upcoming years.”

Nicholas Schaffer, Freshman, Graphic Design, College for Creative Studies

“We live in a time where it’s getting harder and harder to pay for education, specifically college. Receiving this EDSF scholarship, however, helps me to know that I can better my skills while knowing that I have less debt hanging over me. I am extremely appreciative to have been chosen for this award.”

Kasey Symoné Austin, Masters, Interactive Media, Elon University

“I am very grateful for the scholarship I received from EDSF. This scholarship brings me closer to achieving my masters in Interactive Media.  I am extremely excited to start my program and I cannot say thank you enough for your help.”
