MCT Expands Capabilities of its VersaTech “All in One” Digital Cutter And Expanded Demonstration of Ultrasonic Welding

Press release from the issuing company

Milwaukee, WI - MCTdigital, a leading print finishing solutions company, is pleased to announce its “unveiling” at SGIA in Las Vegas (Booth 716), September 12-14, 2016 of major improvements and new features for its VersaTechTM cutter line. These include:

  • ?  New compelling update in performance and “Made in the U.S.A.”

  • ?  Complete Workflow from Design to Print to Cut

  • ?  Automated Material handling with 3rd generation patent-pending removable conveyor belt for laser cutting of fabric

  • ?  Improved palletized sheet feeding capability

? Newly shipping TigerVisionTM software combining both machine control, and vision for cut to print, along with a new “Griffin for TigerVisionTM” workflow and nesting package developed by Tilia Labs integrated with TigerVision and a new parametric package, carton and POP design capability, “TigerPack,” with 3D illustrator capability allowing for print to be easily integrated into parametric designs.

According to Nikolai Mikkelsen, MCT’s President and CTO, “MCT is completing the next level of manufacturing and integration at MCT’s Milwaukee factory. With roughly 85% of its VersaTech systems now sourced or manufactured in the U.S. and fully tested in Milwaukee, a new level of performance has been reached, increasing speed and improving accuracy.” In addition, major improvements have been made in MCT’s patent pending third generation convertible conveyor technology, whereby high quality laser conveying belts are now assembled in replaceable panels laced together allowing for replacement of sections damaged for any reason, by section, rather than requiring replacement of a complete belt. According to Steen Mikkelsen, MCT’s CEO, this new lacing capability also allows for more accurate alignments of the laser conveyors as they are removed and replaced permitting the systems to be used for more traditional contact finishing using routing and knife cutting with more traditional mat conveying. VersaTech is the only digital finishing system with the ability to handle all materials capable of laser or knife cutting or routing with full material loading and conveying capabilities, as will be shown at SGIA.”

Further, Steen indicates, “the new software capabilities for nesting, workflow, and parametric design bring the VersaTech product line into full compliance with competitive products while achieving significant improvements in finishing capabilities.

In order to show the full capabilities now available for printed and laser cut fabrics, MCT has also teamed up with a number of Grand Format fabric printing companies, including Durst, EFI and HP, to have carrying bag handouts printed on their printers, cut on the VersaTech laser and welded, instead of sewn, by our partner, JTE Machine’s Sonic Bar Welder, to provide a “full solution” handout - PRINT-CUT- WELD - to those visiting our booth. Samples may be picked up at the MCT booth throughout the Expo.

Don’t miss seeing how MCT’s VersaTech can improve your finishing capabilities and provide paybacks of well under a year.
