Press release from the issuing company

YONKERS, NY & AUSTIN, TX - June 11, 2002 - Buyers around the world will now be able to access online a selection of publications from Consumer Reports. Through an agreement announced today with NewsStand, Inc. NewsStand's leading electronic publishing and distribution technology will allow web users to have exact digital versions of the traditional, printed publications delivered directly to their personal computer via the Internet and to have the convenience of reading the digital copy offline anytime or anywhere. Launching today as part of the agreement, the popular Consumer Reports Travel Letter and the online edition of a selection from the Consumer Reports Guide to Baby Products seventh edition are the first Consumer Reports publications offered in digital format. Paid subscriptions and single copy sales of these two publications are available now at www.ConsumerReports.org/travel, www.ConsumerReports.org/babyproducts or through NewsStand's website, www.newsstand.com. The yearly subscription for Consumer Reports Travel Letter is $29 and single issues are being offered at the special price of $3.95. The June issue of Consumer Reports Travel Letter (CRTL), currently available, features a cover story evaluation of the six largest independent travel web sites. Under the terms of the agreement, NewsStand, Inc. will receive commissions from Consumer Reports for distributing its information products through the new relationship. "This agreement allows us to serve a wider audience with our unbiased and timely product information," stated Paige Amidon, General Manager of Multi-Media Products at Consumers Union, non-profit publisher of Consumer Reports.
