At PACK EXPO Chicago, Rovema NA to Exhibit Two Advanced Vertical Form-Fill-Seal Bagging Machines for Food Applications

Press release from the issuing company

Norcross, GA – Rovema North America, a designer and provider of packaging machinery for the food industry, will showcase two advanced Vertical Form-Fill-Seal (VFFS) Machines at Pack Expo, November 6-9 in Chicago.  At the show, Rovema will exhibit the BVK 260 VFFS Machine with a company-made servo driven auger and Aroma perm gas flushing system for residual oxygen levels below 2% to run pillow bags; and the BVC 260, which will be set up to run Stabilo style to run quad seal bags.  Demonstrations of each machine will take place throughout the show at Rovema’s Booth N-6150.

A leading food industry machinery supplier, Rovema NA manufactures and supplies equipment for dosing, vertical form-fill-seal pouching, cartoning, and final packaging operations, primarily for the bakery, cereal, confectionary, coffee, dry powder, snack and frozen foods sectors.

Capable of running up to 120 cycles per minute at format sizes ranging from 60 to 260mm, the BVK 260 VFFS Bagging Machine is ideal for basic bag shapes, such as flat bags and flat-bottomed bags.  It was developed as a replacement for Rovema’s highly successful VPK-260 continuous motion bagger.  Its servo controlled, continuous “D” motion cross seal station keeps reliable sealing technology at the heart of the bagger’s efficiency.

For the BVK 260, improvements over its predecessor include a smaller footprint due to an integrated electrical panel, the introduction of a solid frame with no hollow bodies, fabricated steel and solid posts to better prevent potential product migration into the frame, and better maintenance access – including an improved guard door design that uses additional hinges to ensure easier access to the jaw drive and jaw assembly.

The BVC 260 VFFS Bagging Machine, a continuous motion, dual-axis servo packaging machine, is capable of running up to 210 cycles per minute at a maximum forming width of 260mm.  Equipped with real-time control technology that is fully programmable and highly user-friendly, the BVC 260 is highly flexible in terms of the sizes and styles of bags it can produce, which include pillow, flat-bottom, Stabilo (quad-seal), stand-ups, zipper recloseable and more.  It offers energy efficiency as well as flexibility – especially in its wide range of compatible packaging material, high process reliability and minimization of downtimes in the high power range.

The BVC 260 is equipped with Rovema’s innovative “Premium-Seal” system.  Premium-Seal offers the option to pre-heat and then compress multilayered seal seam packing material for optimum tightness.  Developed by Rovema specifically for the BVC Series, the versatile, programmable and sensitive sealing technology can be used for other applications as well.

The BVC Series incorporates a patented “Sense and Seal” quality control solution that determines, for example, if product is present in the cross seal area and, if so, discharges the bag without the application of sealing pressure.  The intelligent system thus prevents any excess product from being accidentally sealed in the seal area which, in addition to causing immediate product defects, could also decrease sealing tool efficiency and life expectancy.  In addition to the automatic bag discharge of defective packages, this reduction in down-times for jam clearance and reduced wear and tear on cutting blades help ensure high efficiency and long, uninterrupted machine runs.
