ILFORD GALERIE Media now available in Mirage RIP software

Press release from the issuing company

Bergisch Gladbach/Germany - ILFORD is pleased to announce, that for the first time, the Mirage software supports the award-winning ILFORD GALERIE media. The Mirage RIP enables users to achieve excellent prints through an intuitive workflow with optimum productivity.

Peter Hytrek, Chief Executive at DINAX, the developers of the Mirage RIP, commented, “I am extremely pleased with the strategic co-operation between DINAX and the renowned photographic brand, ILFORD and I am delighted that we are able to offer the GALERIE media for a wide range of supported Epson and Canon printers.”

For Arnoud Mekenkamp, Managing Director, ILFORD, the availability of the ILFORD media packages within the Mirage RIP closes an important gap in photo printer support.

Mekenkamp explained, “For many years we have provided RGB profiles for ILFORD GALERIE papers to enable our customers to get the best possible quality from our products. With the introduction of these new media packages in the Mirage RIP, photographers have the ability to manage their print workflow, achieve excellent productivity and more importantly maximum image quality.”

The Mirage RIP claims to set new standards of print quality, ease of use as well as productivity. The RIP was designed for a range of printers including photography, fine art, print service providers, graphics and packaging designers.

The Mirage user interface is intuitive and has native plug-in functions including scaling of gradients, fonts and embedded vector graphics. In addition, the RIP is available for the following Adobe programmes as a plug-in: Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, InDesign, Illustrator and Lightroom 5.

The RIP was designed to optimise and simplify the print workflow and offers preview windows to demonstrate the final print results including layout and a soft proof. This offers the user the added benefit of low material waste including ink as well as paper. In addition, Mirage provides exactly the same function as a stand-alone programme for Windows and Mac.

The Mirage Job Archive manages the print jobs and not only offers a simple way to repeat print jobs but also enables print service providers, once they have agreed the test print with the customer, to reproduce the print results in the desired number of copies.

The Mirage RIP is not restricted to any print length limitations and allows the user to easily produce a panoramic image in any size and upwards of 30,000 pixels through the Mirage Photoshop Plug-in.
