Underwriters Laboratories has certified that AlumiGraphics® GRIP complies with the applicable requirements in the Standard for Slip Resistance of Floor Coating and Finishing Material, UL 410 Third Edition. Having UL certification for slip resistance further strengthens this material’s safety accreditations; other coefficient of friction accreditations for both wet and dry environments include:

  • ANSI A137.1
  • ASTM D 2240-05 & ASTM F1677-005
  • HB 198:2014.

AlumiGraphics® GRIP has also been proven non-flammable, making it safe for applications with stringent fire safety requirements. In the ASTM E84 surface burning test, AlumiGraphics® GRIP received an ‘A’ classification with a flame spread index (FSI) = 0 and a Smoke Developed Index (SDI) = 20. The purpose of this test method is to determine the relative burning behavior according to the standard ASTM E84-15b: the standard test method for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials (NFPA255, ANSI/UL 723 and UBC 8-1).

“AlumiGraphics® GRIP is an exceptional material that outperforms other products on the marketplace. These additional safetycertifications provide the greatest peace of mind for print service providers who cater to customers like large retailers with strict safety codes. Since our customers look to us for products with proven performance, we are proud to deliver with media that meets the most demanding requirements,” said Matt Buckley, GPA’s Wide Format Product Manager.

The slip-resistant, non-flammable, reflective material of AlumiGraphics® GRIP is ideal for a variety of rigid walkway surfaces, ranging from brick to concrete. In addition to sidewalk and walkway graphics, it is also commonly used for entrance and vestibule graphics; signage for patios, courtyards and pools; parking space and curb markings; and sports venue marketing.
