US College Staff And Students Follow The Paper Trail

Tuesday, June 07, 2016

Press release from the issuing company

Nine US students travelling as part of their course on the chemistry of art, led by their three professors, came to see for themselves the birthplace of today's global mechanical papermaking industry at Frogmore Paper Mill in Apsley.   Their trip was specially organised with the Apsley Paper Trail charity.

The visitors, from Marist College, Poughkeepsie, New York, were given a full tour of the premises, experienced making paper by hand, and enjoyed a short narrowboat trip on the canal – source of the mill's essential supplies of fibre and coal in years gone by.

Our pictures show the visitors in the factory, and student Alicia Crisalli learning how to make paper by hand from Paper Trail Visitor Centre Manager Peter Burford.
