Built on HTML5, this modular version of Silicon Designer offers a plug-and-play capability for easy interfacing with assets from diverse sources, including multiple DAMs (digital asset managers), social media galleries, and dynamic imaging pipelines for a powerful, mobile-friendly online editing experience.

Originally developed in 2009 and deployed by a wide range of partners and end user companies around the world, Silicon Designer merges the power of Adobe InDesign Server, the highest quality solution for rendering print output, with HTML5, the global standard for web and mobile content, to ensure a seamless and connected online editing experience.

Silicon Designer supports more than 1,000 document types and is used in numerous web-to-print solutions, from personalized greeting cards, door hangers and photo books to marketing collateral, large format signage and dimensional products. With Silicon Designer, Adobe InDesign templates are transformed into online design experiences, with complete and customizable editing functionality, to deliver high-quality output with the power of Adobe InDesign Server. Content to be edited with Silicon Designer starts out in InDesign, is then converted for online editing with mobile and desktop browsers, and when editing is complete, it's output to an InDesign document using InDesign Server.

Silicon Designer has become the leading online solution for publishing Adobe InDesign content due to its exceptional engineering team.  A number of Silicon Publishing's engineers came from the original Adobe InDesign development team, providing the company an unrivaled knowledge of InDesign. Leveraging the Adobe InDesign Composition Engine, the company developed Silicon Connector, which is fast becoming the most popular way that DAMs connect to Adobe Creative Cloud applications. Today, over a dozen leading DAMs, including most recently DALIM ES5 and MediaValet, now use Connector technology.
