Diane Frank Joins Magazine Publishers of America as Marketing VP

NEW YORK, NY (May 28, 2002) - Diane Frank has been named Senior Vice President/Marketing and Promotion for Magazine Publishers of America (MPA), it was announced today by Ellen Oppenheim, Executive Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer, MPA. Ms. Frank had most recently been a Marketing Consultant with a wide range of clients since 1994. She reports to Ms. Oppenheim. "Given Diane's wealth of experience in promotion and marketing, she will be a tremendous asset for us going forward," said Ms. Oppenheim. "Her contributions will be valuable to both the magazine industry and the MPA." In her position, Ms. Frank will be responsible for marketing and promoting magazines to various constituencies, including the advertising and media communities, among others. Additionally, she will be involved in MPA branding, and in the marketing and promotion of MPA activities and events. Prior to managing her own marketing consultancy, DF Marketing, since 1994, Ms. Frank was Director of Marketing for The Walt Disney Company from 1991-1993 where she was part of the start-up team for the Consumer Magazine Division that launched Discover, Disney Adventures and Family Fun magazines, among others. From 1989-1991, Ms. Frank was Marketing Director for The New York Times Company, where she was responsible for marketing, trade advertising, special events and merchandising for Child magazine and its spin-off titles. As Director of Creative Services for Condé Nast's Self from 1987-1989, Ms. Frank led the major repositioning of the magazine. Earlier in her career, she created direct mail, sales materials and trade events for American Express Publishing's Travel & Leisure as Promotion Director in 1986. She was also Merchandising Manager for Playboy magazine in 1985. Ms. Frank began her career as Promotion Manager at Philadelphia Magazine. Ms. Frank was awarded the BPA Promotion Circulation Award for her work at The New York Times Company in 1991. A graduate of Brandeis University with a B.A. in English Literature, she resides in Fairfield, Connecticut, with her family.
