CS Labels adds third Xeikon CX3 Digital Press

Press release from the issuing company

Award-wining digital label printer increases production roar of the fastest digital label press on the market

Düsseldorf, Germany, – Award-winning digital label printer CS Labels has invested in its third Xeikon CX3 press a little over 12 months after installing its first.

"We are delighted to announce the acquisition of the third CX3," states Simon Smith, CS Labels Managing Director. "Having undertaken an extensive review of the ink jet options currently available on the market, we decided that a third press offered the best cost effective solution to improve our production efficiency. By standardising our production facility, capturing the benefits of 30 metres per minutes to using the very latest toners, we have been able to significantly reduce our production cost.

Filip Weymans, Xeikon's Director Segment Marketing Labels & Packaging, adds: "CS Labels was chosen as a pilot site for the Xeikon CX3 due its commitment to the digital print process. The fact that is has now has three presses is as much a testament to its business vision as it is to the capabilities of the press."

As one of the fastest digital label presses on the market with printing speeds of 30 meters per minute, the Xeikon CX3 is 56% faster than any other press in the current Xeikon portfolio, making it the most productive digital press in its class.

Smith says the Xeikon CX3 delivers greater production flexibility and allows the company to explore new markets: "It has enabled us to expand capacity and we can also produce different types of work. We have raised production efficiency. Each press is dedicated to a specific product type. We maximise production by minimising material changes on each press. The CX 3 units enable us to concentrate production of self-adhesive labels and transfer production of our flexible stand up pouches and transfers to the other presses.

"This latest acquisition is part of a detailed overhaul of our current production facility to reduce cost, improve productivity and enable us to develop a range of other products such as peel and reveal, sachets and flexible film. The fact there are no change-over in substrates or settings and no press downtime makes us faster, more productive and cost effective."

Says Smith: "The dry toner platform has enabled CS labels to uniquely differentiate. We have been able to develop applications that others deemed not possible which has set us apart. Beyond the printing press and its technology, the X-800 workflow is an important cornerstone in the unique offering we provide. With the VariLane we optimize costs and with Vectorizor we seamlessly integrate with laser diecutting or the standard variable data tools to deliver upon seemingly common labels but including high variability."
