KODAK drives the future of Flexo printing at drupa with FLEXCEL NX System '16 and ULTRA NX Experience room

Press release from the issuing company

DUSSELDORF, GERMANY, Kodak is introducing the new FLEXCEL NX System '16 , which builds on Kodak's award-winning NX Advantage technology to deliver the gold standard for print quality and production efficiency with the simplest flexo plate portfolio in the industry, in the Kodak Quarter (Hall 5, Stand F09) at drupa 2016.

The new FLEXCEL NX System '16 includes Advanced DIGICAP NX Patterning with Kodak patented Advanced Edge Definition technology that dramatically improve ink transfer in the broadest range of print applications and controls ink flow at the edge of objects, resulting in cleaner print, increased contrast and greater visual edge definition. Implementation is streamlined with NX tags for the application of multiple patterns on a single plate layout.

These new features, combined with Kodak imaging and material technology, enable the FLEXCEL NX System '16 to uniquely serve the wide-ranging demands of flexo print applications, including wide web flexibles, narrow web labels and paperboard printing, with a single plate type. This gives pre-press operations that switch from competitive technologies the added opportunity to reduce inventory, errors and complexity. FLEXCEL NX System '16 also introduces corrugated post-print customers to the proven industry-changing benefits of the Kodak FLEXCEL NX technology.

In the ULTRA NX Experience room, Kodak is demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and ongoing innovation with a preview of next generation flexo technology, which will see highest quality, print efficiency and environmental stewardship combine. Driving the future of flexo, ULTRA NX includes all the proven benefits of the award-winning FLEXCEL NX technology with an environmentally conscious plate processing solution.

"Our Flexo offering on the stand at drupa will show visitors how Kodak's investment into the development of future technologies will drive the growth of the flexo industry in the future," comments Chris Payne, General Manager and Vice President, Kodak Flexographic Packaging Solutions.  "At a time where Flexo is evolving in such a way that packaging printers can truly meet litho and gravure quality standards in a cost effective daily production environment, Kodak is perfectly positioned with its new FLEXCEL NX System '16 and ULTRA NX future technology to support customers in this industry shift. And, as we're basing all our developments on a single technology platform, customers can effortlessly upgrade and maximize their return on investment."
