DaVinci Designer to be Launched at drupa 2016

Press release from the issuing company

Dresden, Germany - Farheap Solutions, a leading provider of advanced solutions for the printing industry that manage print processes at every stage, and its subsidiary OpenSoft, today announced that it will be launching DaVinci Designer, a captivating, interactive, and state-of-the-art online product customization tool for the printing industry, at drupa 2016. The solution will be on display in Hall 6 Booth 6C10 at the world’s largest printing trade show, scheduled for 31 May through 10 June in Düsseldorf. DaVinci Designer is an interactive 3D proofer and PDF builder that features CMYK color, texture, foil, and spot gloss, elements generally lost in flat 2D design renderings.

DaVinci Designer assists users in creating advanced product designs for flat products, packaging, promotional products (mugs, pens etc.), textiles (T-shirts etc.) and much more. With DaVinci Designer, anyone can let their creative side loose and create amazing products without any prior design experience or extensive training, taking advantage of interactive 3D proofs of the design. In line with current industry standards, the proofer component of the program is built entirely with HTML5 and JavaScript.

DaVinci Designer offers realistic viewing not usually associated with design applications. Viewers can rotate objects, see variances in texture, and change layers. Unlike other designer applications, DaVinci designs layers to processes other than those required for basic printing. For example, a layer can be assigned to spot UV coating or foiling in addition to standard print layers. The designer component also supports robust templating, allowing any property of any layer to be locked to protect brand and design integrity. The options are limitless, and the resulting design is priceless!

Brett Heap, CEO of Opensoft and the visionary behind DaVinci Designer, explains why this solution will have a significant impact on the way designers work. “The printing industry has developed forward-thinking and creative ways to personalize printed products. We add texture and glitter, round corners, and digitally replicate old processes like raised lettering or embossing and gold leaf or foiling. The challenge is to be able to definitively show online what these wonderful creations will look like when one gets them in one’s hand. The images produced by DaVinci Designer don’t just come across the flat 2D monitor like most other proofing solutions. With DaVinci Designer, viewers can see exactly what the product will look like, and even feel like, before it is printed!”

DaVinci Designer is easily embedded into web sites and can be configured with just a few lines of code. Since it is built on Web browser technology, it can be completely integrated and branded to work seamlessly with any existing site, include web-to-print applications.

Demonstrations of DaVinci software will be held throughout the drupa 2016. Email for a scheduled demonstration in Hall 6, Both 6C10, or simply stop by for detailed information.
