Consistent colors for packaging professionals by GMG - even faster

Press release from the issuing company

At drupa, the software company is emphasizing what really counts: reliable partners and real know-how

Tubingen – On the GMG booth, deliberately kept white, there will be as little as possible to distract from the essential messages. "We know color," says Managing Director Ian Scott, "is not just any slogan. It's our promise to deliver precise and reliable answers to questions involving color."

For the packaging industry in particular, such answers are needed more than ever. While, previously, exact results were extremely difficult to predict on account of overlapping spot colors and the high number of substrates involved, GMG OpenColor can now provide the accuracy the industry needs. In conjunction with GMG ColorProof, GMG OpenColor is the world's only genuine printing press simulator. More than that, it is not only about the ability to output color-accurate proofs. Thanks to spectral data that accurately reflects individual production environments, separation profiles can now also be created. Finally is it possible to prepare supplied offset print data for use in company-specific flexo print jobs – with no need for time-consuming retouching.

Alongside the main focus theme, packaging, GMG is also helping to bring security to the handling of another key issue, that of optical brightening agents (OBAs). As a partner of Fogra – the Graphic Technology Research Association – GMG has been involved in defining the new FOGRA51/52 characterization data right from the outset. Ian Scott makes the following pledge: "On our booth we'll illustrate what everybody is talking about: the visual effect of varying light conditions on brightened and non-brightened substrates."

Those who want to meet the GMG experts in person will find them in Hall 8A B10. Away from its booth, GMG is also represented by one of its team on the EPSON stand. At the Quadtech Print Performance Speaker Series (Hall 15 D50), Paul Barnes will be speaking about "Brand Color Management and Cxf in a Packaging Workflow" (June 1, 11.30am), while Juergen Seitz will be addressing the topic of "Common Color Appearance" (June 6, 2pm). In addition, GMG is also participating in the drupa innovation park (dip!).
