NorthPoint Studios Flourishes with VersaTech Cutter Capabilities

Tuesday, May 17, 2016

Press release from the issuing company

Milwaukee, WI - MCT Digital, a leading print finishing supplier, and NorthPoint Studios, Baltimore/Washington Area’s leading Large Format Printer offering the latest printing and finishing capabilities are both pleased with having recently installed a VersaTech 1.6 M X 3.2 M  (5’ X 10’) Laser/Cutter/Router in NorthPoint’s production facility.

According to Don Pennell, Owner of NorthPoint Studios, whose VersaTech solution was installed in mid-April, “While there are many other players in this market, the MCT VersaTech is the trifecta when it comes to tooling and versatility.   We were just looking for a knife cut and router style machine, but once we saw the laser it was a no brainer on which machine to purchase.  The possibilities are now endless on what we have the ability to do in house.”

He further commented: “We have found even after a short time of using the VersaTech Digital Cutting System, that we are already seeing a huge savings in man hours for our cutting.  For years we have manually cut projects with a utility knife and large ruler.  Now, by the time one of our employees have cut a few posters out, the VersaTech has an entire sheet cut.  The speed, accuracy and quality of the cut is superb.”

Immediately upon completion of the MCT dealer agreement TyrrellTech’s sales team was presenting the capabilities of the VersaTech to their customer base.  According to Robb Sarno, MCT’s South Eastern Regional Sales Manager, “Tyrrell Tech knew that NorthPoint was looking for a finishing solution and was able to approach them quickly.”  Pennell concurs, “When we were looking for a digital cutter, MCT was not even on our radar.  Luckily TyrrellTech had just taken on their line and asked us to come in for a demo.”  Steve Aranoff, MCT VP of Sales, emphasized “This is a perfect example of why local distributors with superb customer support are becoming quite useful to MCT in building upon its initial direct sales success. Partners like TyrrellTech give added credibility to MCT, a relative startup, while being able to take advantage of local sales & support strengths.”
