Additive Manufacturing Europe 2016 to showcase latest 3D printing innovations

Thursday, May 12, 2016

Press release from the issuing company

Final preparations are underway for the first edition of Additive Manufacturing Europe, taking place 28-30 June at RAI Amsterdam. The pan-European show will cover all business applications for 3D printing / AM, from prototyping to manufacturing. There will be a particular focus on the medical, aerospace and automotive industries.

Exhibitors include BigRep, EnvisionTEC, Formlabs, Höganäs, Mcor / AGA 3D Color Solutions, Prodways, Smit Röntgen (Philips), Trumpf, UL and Ultimaker. The full ecosystem of AM / 3D printing technologies will be on display, including additive manufacturing systems, 3D printers for design / prototyping, materials, finishing solutions and inspection, metrology, scanning and digitizing equipment.

A three-day conference will run alongside the exhibition, featuring the latest trends and technologies. Each day will be focused on a different sector – healthcare (28 June), aerospace (29 June) and automotive (30 June).

Conference sponsor SmarTech Markets Publishing will start each day with an overview of the most exciting developments for that particular sector. This will be followed by a series of practical case studies, covering a variety of applications.

Healthcare topics include customized medical devices, prosthetics and dentistry presented by speakers from Stryker, King’s College Hospital and Dentbay. Other notable speakers include Fokker-GKN Aerospace, Local Motors and the Centre for Advanced Additive Manufacturing (University of Sheffield).

UL AM workshops

In addition to the conference program, UL will present three separate one-day workshops during the show. This training will cover some of the most important topics in the industry, from understanding the benefits and limitations of different 3D printing technologies and materials through to advanced design and testing.

Fundamentals of additive manufacturing designs (28 June)
Design strategies for additive manufacturing (29 June)
Managing quality and safety in additive manufacturing (30 June)

UL is a leading provider of AM training programs and these workshops have been specially adapted for the show. Each workshop will run from 9:00 to 18:00and course fees include lunch and refreshments. In order to encourage interaction, seating will be very limited, so delegates are advised to book their places soon. The full program, including pricing, is available at www.amshow-europe.com.

Product stage

During the show, exhibitors will also present some of their innovations in a dedicated area of the show floor, sponsored by Ultimaker. These sessions are free of charge to attend for show visitors and seating will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Lisa Milburn, Managing Director of Additive Manufacturing Shows, commented: “We are very excited for our first show and grateful for the support we’ve had from the industry. 3D printing / additive manufacturing has so many practical applications beyond the hype that been covered in the consumer press and we hope to showcase many of these next month. Our focus isn’t on vague futuristic concepts, but very much on the ways in which the technology is already changing the world. In addition to the technology on display, there is a strong emphasis on education at the show, both through the conference program and the UL AM workshops. Education is key to developing and promoting this industry.”

An early registration rate is available until 10 June, with expo tickets costing €20+VAT. All-inclusive conference passes are also available at €150+VAT. Visitors can register online at www.amshow-europe.com.
