Copresco Installs Ricoh Pro C9100 Digital Color Press

Press release from the issuing company

Copresco has installed one of the first Ricoh Pro C9100 digital color presses in the country.

“The highly-advanced system—supported by our extensive experience with digital technology—keeps us on the forefront of on-demand color printing,” says President Steve Johnson.

“This is a rugged full-production press with 110-page-per-minute speed that meets our clients’ high-volume, fast turnaround demands for books and publications. And, Copresco can now print sheets up to 27-1/2” long, a major achievement for high-volume digital printing. These oblong sheets are perfect for book covers, dust jackets and six-page brochures,” Johnson explained.

“We are amazed by the interest our clients have already shown in the large sheet size. The first project we ran was a 27-1/2” product bulletin that we could not have produced without this system. The next project was an 11” x 8-1/2” oblong sales training book with 22” foldout pages, followed by a six-page industrial catalog with full-bleed cover,” Johnson added.

Even Heidelberg, the powerhouse offset press manufacturer, has selected the C9100 as its top of the line digital press.

Book covers will be a major application for Copresco’s new press. “As we have said before, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but we know that everyone does it. That’s why we are fully committed to producing beautiful covers for our clients’ projects. Even educational, scientific and technical materials can benefit from enticing covers. A beautiful cover commands your attention and says, ‘Open Me,’” Johnson explained.

Copresco still has work to do. “The excellent image quality of the C9100 gives us a perfect platform to tweak and make further technical refinements that will take the press to an even higher level of laser printing superiority,” he concluded.

Copresco produces millions of impressions of short-run publications, books and manuals. Projects range from booklets, catalogs, handbooks, textbooks and technical materials to guidebooks, newsletters, calendars and cookbooks.
