ILFORD Wins TIPA Award for GALERIE Prestige Gold Fibre Gloss

Press release from the issuing company

ILFORD has been awarded the prestigious Technical Imaging Press Association (TIPA) Award for GALERIE Prestige Gold Fibre Gloss in the Best Inkjet Photo Paper category. This is the third time a product from the GALERIE Prestige range has been honoured with a TIPA Award, as GALERIE Prestige Gold Fibre Silk and GALERIE Prestige Gold Mono Silk have both won the distinguished accolade.

The TIPA panel comprises of editors from 30 leading photo and imaging magazines from 15 countries across five continents. The panel meet on an annual basis to review the latest imaging products in the market and then evaluate them using a number of factors including product design and innovation.

“We are honoured to be awarded the prestigious TIPA Award for GALERIE Prestige Gold Fibre Gloss” said Arnoud Mekenkamp, joint Managing Director of ILFORD Imaging Europe. “We are consistently striving to add new and innovative products into the range and we are delighted that the TIPA panel have recognised our efforts. We are particularly proud of GALERIE Prestige Gold Fibre Gloss as it produces superb black and white images which are reminiscent of traditional black and white darkroom prints.”

Mekenkamp continues, “TIPA is an internationally recognised award and we are delighted that the GALERIE Prestige range has been honoured with a third TIPA accolade. Our mission is to offer photographers the best quality photographic products in the market and the TIPA panel have confirmed that GALERIE is still at the forefront of product innovation in the inkjet photo paper category.”

The citation from the TIPA judging panel is as follows:

ILFORD GALERIE Prestige Gold Fibre Gloss 310gsm

Made expressly to match the look and feel of traditional fibre-based darkroom paper, ILFORD GALERIE Prestige Gold Fibre Gloss offers an ideal surface and look for black and white images as well as reproducing a wide gamut for colour images. The paper range is available in both roll and cut sheet, is made with 100% cotton rag and no optical brighteners, yet has a crisp white and deep black response. The 310gsm weight means a durable surface that is perfect for framing and presentation portfolio prints. The “Baryta-like” surface is akin to a subtle gloss look, and while the paper can be used in dye and pigment printers, the latter will certainly deliver both the best quality and longevity the paper can offer.
