WEILBURGER Graphics, headquartered in Gerhardshofen (Germany), simultaneously presented two new coatings from the SENOLITH^®-FP product range for food packaging application.

The SENOLITH^®-WB FP DC product range contains all coatings that are approved (by ISEGA) for direct food contact (dry, greasy, humid), that are in accordance with the Swiss commodities regulation and whose raw materials themselves are suited for food packaging. These coatings are low migration and low odor.

SENOLITH^® WB MATT COATING FP NDC 17-3502 350710

The SENOLITH^®-WB FP NDC product range contains dispersion coatings that are approved for non-direct food contact (ISEGA/FABES). These coatings are low migration and low odor.

These two coatings set themselves apart through the following features:

• Very good dimensional stability over printing inks, therefore causing no set-off during piling, even over high ink layers. 
• Quick drying while on the pile.
• Excellent abrasion protection during post-press processing.  
• Approved migration values, backed by an independent testing institute.
• SENOLITH^® WB GLOSS COATING HIGH ABRASION RESISTANT FP DC 27-1421 350279 is also suitable for non-absorbent substrates.

Arno Dürr, Sales Director at WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH, commented regarding the SENOLITH^®-FP Coatings: “As it is known in the market, low migration printing inks dry almost exclusively through physical means, which slows the drying down when compared to conventional printing inks. This fact entails that such printing inks have to be better protected while piled and during further processing. Hereto we developed two new low migration coatings that fulfill these characteristics, as demonstrated by the performance tests at selected users.”
