Hungary's ANY Security Printing Installs Roland 500 with UV System

Press release from the issuing company

In a world where security is a prime consideration for both governments and private institutions, print products designed for security and identification purposes are of great importance. The production of such products is handled with extreme care. Only printers who pass strict screening and have a track record for reliability and competence are entrusted with the task.

Hungary-based ANY Security Printing Company PLC is one of those security printing houses trusted for generations in Central and Eastern Europe. Such is the standing of the 165-year-old company in the industry that it is also an authorized supplier of NATO.

Recently, in order to shorten the lead time and better meet the increasing demands of its clients, ANY Security Printing decided to install a brand-new six-color ROLAND 500 with UV system in its facility.

"As we make identity cards and passports for our customers all over the world, including the new Hungarian eID cards that were launched on 1st January, 2016 this new press will help us so that the number of colours (visible or invisible) can be multiplied. The precision makes it possible to use micro text, Guilloche lines, IRIS elements," said Mr. Gábor Zsámboki, the company’s CEO.

ANY Security Printing Company has huge experiences in other security printing products as well: it develops and produces the most different UV security inks and laser-printer toners for effective protection of personalized data of ID documents and billions of Hungarian tax stamps have also been produced by ANY for more than 20 years. ROLAND 500 can print on a wide range of substrates, ranging from 0.06-millimeter lightweight paper to 0.6-millimeter thick plastic materials. This and the possibility to print both with wet and dry UV offset technology provides ANY Security Printing Company with greater flexibility in the use of substrates.

In addition, ROLAND 500 has the world’s flattest sheet travel with a high printing speed of up to 16,000 sheets per hour. Because of highly stable register and inking, it guarantees the highest print quality from the first sheet to the last – and without slowing down. These features are extremely important for any printer who needs to print fast and at the same time maintain consistent print quality.

ROLAND 500 is highly automated and requires less make-ready time and manpower. Thus, the total production cost is reduced while the overall productivity is increased. Taking advantage of this feature, the company can shorten the lead time and achieve greater customer satisfaction.

For years, ANY Security Printing has been using another sheetfed offset model from Manroland Sheetfed, an RZF with UV. "This machine still works very precisely," Gábor said with a smile.

ANY Security Printing, with an 800-strong staff trained to meet their clients’ requirements, takes great pride in getting the job done based on accepted international standards. Obviously, completing the job is not good enough for ANY Security Printing; the quality should approach excellence.

According to Mr Zsámboki, international and domestic certifications are integral to the company’s success. They guarantee that their products and services conform to world-class standards. These include certifications for ISO 9001 quality management system, ISO 14001 environmental management system, ISO 27001 information protection, CWA 14614 High Security Printer certificate and AQAP 2110 certificate.
