www.GATF.org Moves to www.GAIN.net

Press release from the issuing company

Pittsburgh, Pa., May 16, 2002 — Information on educational programs, publications, consulting, research services, quality control devices, and essentially everything offered by the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF) can now be found exclusively at www.gain.net. The transfer of all information from www.gatf.org to the Graphic Arts Information Network (GAIN) greatly enriches the site with more industry news and information, and positions GAIN as the premiere Web portal serving the graphic arts industry. "GAIN has become a vital industry link for both PIA/GATF members, as well as those seeking more information about the graphic arts industry," says George Ryan, GATF president. Since being launched over two years ago by the Printing Industries of American (PIA), GATF, and local affiliates, GAIN has nearly 16,000 registered users and nearly 70,000 user sessions each month. "Furthermore the assimilation of the two Web sites is yet another step in the ongoing consolidation between our two organizations to better serve the industry and our members." All of GATF’s traditional products and services can now be found easily under "About GATF." Users can learn about paper and ink lab services, download a catalog of quality control devices, or read technical tips by the combined PIA/GATF consultants. Users can also search by date, topic, or location for a GATF conference, workshop, or local seminar. The GAIN Bookstore contains GATF’s textbooks, research reports, training curriculums, forecasts, primer series, audio visuals, and much more. Users can search by title or keyword. Back issues of the Foundation’s renowned magazine, GATFWorld, is also accessible to registered member users as well as other PIA/GATF periodicals. For up-to-date information, Web users can browse through GATF’s press releases in the Newsroom. Special pages have been added to announce new products and services such as PrintScape—a new economically-priced self-study orientation program. Additionally the industry can view the step-by-step preparations being made by GATF to install a new MAN Roland Rotoman web press. Traditional popular areas on GAIN include PrintAccess—a nationwide index of print and media vendors—new and used equipment listings, business solutions, legal and political issues, as well as economic and industry trends. GATF encourages users of its previous site to become registered users on GAIN for more information and to take advantage of easy ordering and registering features. Registrants will also receive a monthly bulletin to alert them to the site’s latest information and features. PIA/GATF members have even greater access to more in-depth information when they register on GAIN. For example, PIA/GATF members receive access to members-only content such as the monthly Economic Flash Reports and a customized viewing based on their indicated affiliate.
