Color Management Group Debuts Hamillroad Software’s Bellissima DMS for Flexo at Info*Flex 2016

Press release from the issuing company

Morgan Hill, CA, USA - Color Management Group (CMG) announces the North American debut of Hamillroad Software’s Bellissima DMS for Flexo at INFO*FLEX 2016 in Fort Worth, Texas on March 7 - 8, 2016 in CMG‘s booth# 131, showcasing dramatically improved print quality for Flexo.

Hamillroad Software, a leading RIP and screening innovator, based in Cambridge, United Kingdom has appointed Alvaro Rodriguez, CMG’s former Director of Global Expansion, to head their US Operations. Andy Cave, CEO of Hamillroad Software states "With the eminent release of Bellisima, we wanted to have a direct presence in the Americas. We feel that having Alvaro running the head of our US operations is a perfect fit. Alvaro has been involved with Hamillroad products since very early on, he speaks the regions’ languages and must importantly, shares our vision and values." Alvaro Rodriguez comments  "Andy and I had spoken about his new screening technology for a while and I was very impressed by the results. It was an honor for me to asked to take this challenge."

Hamillroad’s Award winning technology, Bellissima Digitally Modulated Screening for Flexo, has been in test at Syreline in South Africa for the last two years and has already won several FTA awards including Gold in both the Flexible Packaging Narrow Web Process Category and Flexible Packaging Wide Web Process Category. The Gold medal winner (in the Flexible Packaging Narrow Web Process category) was particularly commended for its beautifully reproduced photography by the judges, who applauded the stunning result achieved and declared the entry “Best on Show”.

Erich Kuhl, the FTASA Executive Secretary in particular said, “The dot integrity and rendition were excellent … and the printed results were stunning to say the least - almost super-natural.”

Outstanding Quality - 300+ lpi on Wide Web Flexible

Andy Cave, Hamillroad’s Screening Expert who oversaw the development of Bellissima said, “We were very proud to receive these awards as clear testimony to the quality of print that we have achieved with Bellissima. The improvements we are seeing with Bellissima, compared to existing flexo offerings, is nothing short of unbelievable. The effective lpi has dramatically increased from 150-175 lpi to over 300 lpi. The resulting imagery is beautiful, as well as contains an unprecedented level of detail. The flat tints are extremely smooth and the overall print is just so sharp, with brighter crisper colors. Various limitations printers previously had to accept as being part of flexo printing (such as hard-breaks on vignettes that fade to zero) have just disappeared.”

Cave added, “We are very excited about introducing this technology into the US, Canadian and South American market and showcasing it at Info*Flex. We strongly believe that the introduction of Bellissima into the printing industry heralds an exciting new era for flexographic printing. The combination of being able to match (if not exceed) the print quality of gravure at significantly reduced cost will allow flexo printers to meet the ever increasing demands of brand owners for higher quality printing of shorter print runs.”
