Navigator RIP Version 11 Announced Ahead of drupa

Press release from the issuing company

Harlequin RIP Upgrades for Commercial, Digital, High-Speed Inkjet Applications

Ann Arbor, Michigan – Xitron, the leading independent developer of RIP and workflow products for commercial, digital, and high-speed inkjet printing announced plans to release version 11 of its popular Navigator RIP software ahead of its debut at Drupa in May. Over 30,000 copies of Navigator have been put into production by Xitron dealers and OEMs since its inception.

“Navigator is the lynchpin of our prepress independence movement,” said Karen Crews, President of Xitron. “Navigator RIPs drive Computer-to-Plate devices from almost all major manufacturers, including Agfa, Kodak, ECRM, Heidelberg, Fuji, Krause, and Presstek. Most recently, Navigator has become the RIP of choice for driving high-speed inkjet systems from Astro, Neopost, Colordyne, Trojan, and SuperWeb, along with many other Memjet OEMs.”

Navigator 11 provides improvements in speed, memory usage, and screening for flexographic printing as well as functional enhancements such as better handling of poorly formed PDF files, specific use of PDF/VT hints, and export of die-line separations when used in package printing environments. For high-speed inkjet applications, Navigator 11 introduces features to improve speed on image-heavy jobs, increasing productivity so that pages are fed more quickly to the press.

Exhibiting at Drupa May 31-June 10 in stand 15C54-4, Xitron will be demonstrating Navigator 11 as the core Digital Front End (DFE) in several different implementations, encompassing each of their market segments. From March 2, 2016 onward, any customer purchasing a version 10 Navigator RIP will be entitled to receive Navigator 11 at no charge when shipments begin.

Other announcements regarding Xitron’s Drupa plans will be released in the lead-up to the show during the next few weeks.
