TruEdit 2.0 Introduces HTML Responsive Content Authoring and Design with TruAuthor

Press release from the issuing company

The newest version of TruEdit adds HTML 5 authoring and InCopy integration for MEI’s cloud-based collaborative workflow system

Jenkintown, PA ?- Managing Editor Inc (MEI), a leading provider of digital and print publishing and workflow solutions, announced today the release of TruEdit 2.0, the latest update of the company’s flagship content management solution.

TruEdit 2.0 is a cloud-based, flexible workflow platform that manages the omnichannel content lifecycle for publishing teams and creative designers to produce content that is easy to distribute to websites, mobile apps and print publications. Teams using TruEdit 2.0 are able to create, track, distribute and measure all digital and print content, meet the demands of continuous publishing to digital channels and shorten the time to market.

TruEdit 2.0 includes the debut of TruAuthor, MEI’s native HTML authoring tool for publishing to the web and mobile apps. Now with TruAuthor, content creators and designers will create responsive HTML in the TruEdit platform, allowing digital teams to use a single application to generate engaging experiences for web, mobile and social media channels.  The entire HTML creation and design process is kept inside of the same workflow, keeping the teams on task when managing content for distribution to the channels they desire.

Another key feature of TruEdit 2.0 is the addition of the InCopy plug-in. Through TruEdit, InCopy users are able to create and revise files in collaboration with others on the creative team using InDesign for page layout.  And with the InCopy/InDesign integration, writers can preview the layout, write-to-fit and manage line breaks. TruEdit also extends InCopy with custom metadata, version management and dynamic status updates to facilitate workflow.

“As a content creation system, I’m impressed by TruEdit 2.0. It's fast and stable, and intuitive for the end users, whether they're designers or editors,” stated Anne-Marie Concepcion, founder and president of Seneca Design & Training. “The addition of TruAuthor and the new InCopy integration are game-changers. I'm excited to show this to my publisher clients.”

“The future of digital publishing lies within responsive HTML design, and TruAuthor has arrived to fill that need,” commented Mark Leister, managing director of MEI. “TruAuthor works directly inside of TruEdit giving us a single launch point for content generation that publishes to multiple channels. Moving content from idea to completion has never been easier.”
