Hats Off to Swanline for Advanced Packaging Solution

Trade-only packaging supplier Swanline Print’s renowned expertise and its long-standing relationship with a box manufacturer gave it a head start over competitors when the customer required an innovative shelf ready solution for Panama hats.

Swanline’s award-winning constructional design team’s most recent collaboration with corrugated box maker Advanced Packaging Ltd was to develop a novel packaging design for a Panama hat, incorporating a litho printed outer sleeve with a plain internal drawer and integrated one-piece handle for displaying the traditional brimmed straw hat.

Advanced Packaging had previously worked with the confidential supplier on other projects, including a stunning Christmas Beer Advent Calendar comprising of 24 bottles of 330ml craft beers with a surprise bottle of champagne-style beer in the centre, which was awarded “Highly Commended” at last year’s UK Packaging Awards.

Specialist supplier Swanline’s offering in litho, digital and screen printing is ring fencing complete packaging solutions for Advanced Packaging, according to the latter’s managing director Angela Pender, as the company can enhance the quality and turnaround time of any POS or packaging project.

Angela said: “We know Swanline very well and can always rely on them. They are on the same wavelength for quality and excellent customer service – and the advent calendar and hat box were fabulous designs. Swanline came up with the original concept for the Panama hat box which did need some tweaking to match the customer’s specification, but they have all the kit and printing facilities so nothing was too much trouble for them.”


From functional counter displays and shelving to floor standing display units and eye-catching banner stands, Swanline’s customers can use its services as much or as little as they want. Having Swanline’s capabilities in their armoury not only increases the range of products and services they can offer, it also adds to profit margins.
