Colter & Peterson’s automated Microcut systems to draw attention at Graphics of the Americas

Press release from the issuing company

Paterson, NJ – Sun, surf and automated back gauge control systems for paper cutters will be on the minds of those who will be attending Graphics of the Americas later this week. Microcut/Colter & Peterson (booth 1717) will shine the spotlight on a wide range of Microcut® systems in front of an international audience at the three-day show, which takes place February 18-20 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Colter & Peterson is North America’s largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment. Five highly effective and affordable retrofit versions will be on display, including Microcut COLOR WS, Microcut PLUS, Microcut JR, Microcut B-65 and Microtrack II. Regardless if a printer handles small format or large format work, C&P’s Richard Peereboom says there is a Microcut system available for any type of print operation.

“All of our Microcut systems are very popular. What works best for one printer may be completely different for another, but either way there is a system for every size printer,” said Peereboom, C&P’s Sales Manager for Latin America. “We have nearly 35,000 Microcut installations worldwide. Each system is very accurate and can be used on any brand or size paper cutter between 20-150 inches. Inch for inch, no other system can match it in the marketplace.”

That is one reason why the Microcut/Colter & Peterson booth has been so active at Graphics of the Americas in recent years. Customers from Mexico, Central and South America have gravitated to the Microcut system since it is easy to install, requires little maintenance and is very affordable.

“The last two years at this show, Microcut COLOR has been the choice for large format and Microcut JR is the leader for small format operations,” revealed Peereboom. “Both have excellent price points and many of the buyers have told me they consider COLOR WS to be a fantastic unit that is very affordable. All of our Microcut system have unique benefits, so it comes down to what is the best fit for an individual printer.”

Graphics of the Americas attendees visiting the booth will learn that Microcut saves time and money by memorizing each cutting sequence. When the back gauge automatically positions itself, it makes a quick and precise trim within 1/64th of an inch.

Microcut COLOR WS guides correct position movement faster and more accurately with computer-controlled precision. An 8” wide format touch screen display allows for quick and simple set up. Microcut JR is a preferred choice of smaller shops using paper cutters less than 37” in size. Advanced programming options such as label and sheet divide make complicated jobs easier to program, requiring only a few data entries.

Microcut PLUS combines a 12” wide format touch screen with microcip® and microfacts® features. Programs can be uploaded from the network connection with a USB device using CIP 3/4 files, and no additional hardware or software is necessary. Microcut B-65 is a turnkey paper cutter clamp/control system that brings any flywheel cyclical paper cutting machine up to current standards with state-of-the-art electronics.
