Greeting card sector booms at fotopost24 photo service

Press release from the issuing company

The following report from fotopost24 in Brandenburg (Germany) shows, how easy it is, to turn greeting cards created via mobile app into a cash benefit:

Mathias Meinert is a professional photographer and runs his fotopost24 photo business with six employees in Werder a. d. Havel (Germany). Since 2002, fotopost24 has been supplying photo products, such as prints, calendars, posters, canvas wall decoration, photo books and other photo gifts.

His successful App "Postkarte" (German for "Greeting Card") was presented to the market in 2010. Today, fotopost24 generates almost one third of its sales revenue from the production of greeting cards, ordered via smartphone or tablet.

In order to improve its productivity, a fastBook 10CF machine form Imaging Solutions AG (ISAG) was put into service at fotopost24 in January 2016. This compact photo finishing system was set up exclusively for the production of post cards, created by customers using the "Postkarte" app.

The process from the ordering of the cards via its production on the fastBook 10CF and to delivery is quite simple: A customer anywhere in the world quickly and easily orders his greeting card via smarthphone or tablet. Fotopost24 manufactures the card, stamped it and sends it to the addressee at the same day, when the order comes in until noon.

fotopost24 produces up to 30.000 greeting cards per month. "Our clients are absolutely delighted with the quality of our post cards", Mathias Meinert is pleased to report. "Thanks to the fastBook 10CF bookbinding machine, a significant sales increase can already be noticed at the end of January."

Prior to anything, the decision to buy a fastBook10 CF system was based on quality reasons. "The competition is very strong in this segment", says photo expert Meinert. "With the new machine we set ourselves apart from other suppliers. I believe that fotopost24 is currently producing the best card quality in the market", he added.

Another aspect regarding the benefits of the fastBook 10CF is the user-friendly operation. "The user quickly gets familiar with the machine's functionality", confirms Meinert, who is working at this system daily.

One additional criterion for high quality photo prints or post cards is the selection of the suitable photo paper. As professional photographer, Mathias Meinert relies on the unique quality of FUJIFILM Crystal Archive Paper Digital Type DP II. This original FUJIFILM photo paper runs smoothly on the fastBook 10CF system, and delivers perfect prints in brilliant photo quality. For Meinert, there is no alternative to this material in terms of color reproduction and haptics.

Additional photo book production coming soon

Initially, fotopost24 procured the fastBook 10CF bookbinding system for the production of greeting cards only.

To make optimal use of the machine, the future production of LayFlat photo books on this system is in focus, too. A backend solution for this application is already in progress. "We are looking forward to producing unique quality photo books on that system by using all of the functionality of the fastBook 10CF bookbinding system", Mathias Meinert concludes.

In addition to the economic expansion, fotopost24 has plans to strengthen its team by creating another job for the book binding sector.
