New Roland printer from QPS helps Nexvision's Christmas go 'swimmingly'

Press release from the issuing company

Burscough - Nexvision says it has completed a very successful Christmas period after installing a second Roland VersaEXPRESS RF-640 running Nazdar TX-650 dye-sublimation inks, supplied by Quality Print Services (QPS).

The Derbyshire personalised gift company – a specialist in textile-based items such as cushions, blankets and cosmetics bags – purchased a new Roland VersaEXPRESS RF-640 with Nazdar dye-sub TX-650 inks in November 2014 to increase its capacity, following it with a second, identical setup in November 2015.

The company had an older Roland machine and when the time came to invest in an additional printer, research led to QPS.

"In 2014 we wanted another dye-sub printer to give us extra capacity, but the Roland model we were using was no longer available," explains Dave King, Managing Director, Nexvision Group. "We went to QPS and its Managing Director Chris Bailey was able to recommend a compatible model, the Roland VersaEXPRESS RF-640, which was installed ahead of the busy Christmas period of that year.

"We decided to expand further and so, one year later, bought an identical printer and the same Nazdar dye-sub inks for continuity and to make training easier for our staff."

QPS also installed Wasatch RIP software on all three Roland printers, which run alongside Nexvision's two Monti Antonio presses.

Dave King adds that Christmas 2015 went 'swimmingly' with a 25-30% increase in sales on the previous year and an estimated output of well over 30,000 individual personalised cushions. Nexvision has the ongoing support of QPS, who King describes as 'good as gold'.

"Chris and the whole QPS team are very easy to deal with – if there are any problems they come straight over from Lancashire and make sure things are fixed quickly," he says. "Christmas is by far our busiest time so it was essential to have that support."

The print operators are also delighted with the Nazdar TX-650 dye-sub inks and Dave King is considering switching the older Roland printer to Nazdar inks from QPS as well. QPS is an authorised Roland dealer for dye-sublimation and UV applications and supplies Roland printers alongside finishing equipment, Nazdar inks and other consumables to print companies working across the UK.

"The Roland RF-640 is a reliable textile printing machine and has shown its capability to meet the needs of the busiest print rooms," says Chris Bailey, Managing Director, QPS. "Nazdar inks are a great choice for the printer and have helped Nexvision create some stunning personalised work."

The Roland VersaEXPRESS RF-640 is a 1.62m (64") wide-format digital printer with a maximum print speed of 48.5sqm/hr, with Roland Intelligent Pass Control for high-quality prints at speed and support for media rolls up to 40kg.

Nazdar TX650 Series Inks are water-based dye-sublimation inks formulated for specific printer platforms including the Roland RF-640. Offering clean, vibrant colour, superior fastness and reliability on synthetic fabrics, pre-coated ceramics, metals and plastics, the TX650 series provides quality equal to that of OEM ink but at a lower price. ?
